One quick correction: the outgoing RX wasn't using the Remote Touch system until the very end -- it switched to a touchscreen near the end of its life cycle. However, the majority of outgoing RX models (and Lexus models in general) have been using the Remote Touch interface, and this new system is a huge step up.

As far as exterior styling, I like everything about it except the front end and grill, which I think has actually gotten uglier. But I could honestly live in that interior, which is simply stunning! Hi Doug, 4 things you mentioned need my attention: - Digital key (aka Smart Key) is not a new thing for the RX at all. It was offered in 3rd generation (2013) top spec RX. The same thing happened with the 4th generation. Not sure about entry models but top spec had it as standard. - Touch screen (infotainment) has been available on the RX since 2020 when the facelift of the 4th generation was introduced. - Interior (cabin) lights were operated by tapping in 4th generation (2016-2022) RX too. - Opened windows or panoramic roof warning shown when parked and switched engine off was again displayed on a dash in the previous (4th generation) RX. Please note I’m talking about UK market. Maybe US one is different 🤔 You got the rest spot on 👌🏼

Corrections: 6:15 - Digital Key is part of the Lexus Remote App on your phone, and only uses your phone as a key. The device you showed is the Access Key Card. 6:41 - the RX has had a touchscreen since the 2020 model year. It works alongside the remote touch interface. 15:54 - gauge cluster alerts came out in 2016 for the RX. It also sends you a push notification on your phone.

Amazing design except the grille. We'll see the more time goes by if I get used to it or not. I love the headlights and tail lights. Thanks again Dog for an awesome review even though you could not get to test drive the new RX it was still pretty informative. My wife and I have had many RX 350s. That’s her car of choice. I was recently at my Lexus dealer having our 2022 serviced and was told that the new four-cylinder RX requires premium gasoline. The fact that the RX never required premium fuel was one of the selling points for us. It seemed that all the competitors required premium fuel. Because of the unstable price of fuel right now, I don’t feel this is the right time to be doing that.

If you're in reverse, it shows the back view and top down, press it again and it shows rear 360 view and top down. Pressing the camera button in park does the spinning around, which is odd. Personally, I think that these reviewers should turn down the option to review until the models are drivable. How can we be sure that this Lexus doesn’t run like shit?? These types of videos will have a reverse effect. Rather than gaining new subscribers for being the first to review, you’ll instead drop current subscribers who’ll lose interest in reviews that don’t show actual drive-ability….That being said, I do appreciate that Doug never seems influenced and usually calls it as he sees it. Side note: Kia’s and Hyundai’s are also equipped with cooled rear seats. Seems pretty common place these days.

Nice. A great used alternative is the QX70, FX37/FX35. Depending on the year It has the engine and transmission from a 350z/G35/G37/370z and has the awd system from the Nissan R34. It has pretty much the same 0-60 as this f sport model. Might not be as fuel efficient but it's way more fun to drive and heaven forbid if there are any issues, the parts are abundant.

My thoughts on the new Lexus RX 2023. Let me start by saying: I love the Lexus RX. Ever since I drove it for the first time a few years ago in Florida, I have been in awe of this car that is so different than the Audis, BMWs and Mercedes that I had driven before (me being from Germany). Frankly I had never heard of the Lexus RX before I sat in one. Anyway, it was love at first drive. This car was quiet and comfy, luxurious with a silky smooth V6 engine and lovely soft leather seats. And once I put my hands on that wooden steering wheel, man, I never wanted anything else. The Lexus RX was a car that didn't make me want to drive fast, like my BMW or an Audi. Instead it enveloped me in relaxation and confident tranquility. Never before have I found myself reaching my destinations more relaxed than in a Lexus RX. The newest generation of the RX now comes with new power trains, modernized interior, and revised optics. And to be honest: I don't like what I'm seeing. Compared to its predecessor it has become lower and wider. The RX's beautiful classic SUV proportions have been shifted to a more cab-rearward appearance, emphasizing its sporty aspirations. Accordingly the hood has become longer, creating a visual imbalance with the shortened rear overhang. New creases on the flank create a dynamic look and the wider rear with the light bar give it an athletic and aggressive stance. The car also seems to sit lower to the ground although no numbers on ground clearance have been released. The interior has been reduced from opulent and plush to sleek and minimal (no doubt the materials are of fine quality). Lexus did not resist the trend to remove buttons and incorporate many functions into a massive screen. The analog watch did not survive and I have yet to see that glorious wooden steering wheel on any press pictures (I have little hope). Why do I like none of this? The Lexus RX is one of the important cars in automobile history. It defined the new class of luxury cross-over which has since been copied by countless automakers. It was the trend setter and it was confident about what it was (and what it was not). It never aspired to being a sports car. It was a luxurious, smooth, quiet family glider. What I see now is a car that is trying to be an Audi or a BMW. A car that is giving up on the things that made it marvelous and gave it a unique character. Sneered at by too many car reviewers (who just don't get the RX) it is now trying to be like the cool kids. Sporty, dynamic, aggressive, sleek, minimal? None of this I want from a Lexus RX. And even if I wanted that: I could just go and buy an Audi.

A more cohesive design? The least cohesive part of the previous generation's design, in my opinion at least, is the C pillar area, with that awkward kink in the window sill, and the not-very-flowing curve above that. The new RX keeps that area almost unchanged, while adding less striking nose and tail treatments which I honestly think a lot of people won't recognise as being a Lexus, especially with the removal of the stylized 'L' badge from the tailgate - so many automakers seem to be ditching their traditional badges for their name spelled out in letters that it's hard to tell some vehicles apart until you're close enough to read those letters!

I generally disagree as the C pillar i find quite attractive. Also, i was one of the people who hated the big hourglass grills, so that is a step-up for me. I do agree about the spelling out of the name. Can't really find the logic behind it. It feels like going downmarket instead of up, less brand recognition as you mentioned. Does anybody even prefer the manufacturers doing such things?

I find it so funny how people that review these type of cars (preproduction) are invited privately. They show up with camera crews to film great angles and as many gadgets as they can to sound and look professional. Tuns out he probably gets the most views in his reviews than all the other people combined.

I have the older version RX 450h and I like the idea of the rear windshield wiper is under the rear spoiler instead of on the rear door. It kind of takes away the Luxury look of the the car when wiper blade on the rear door. Lots time you see one going down the street and it rear wiper is hanging down and broken usually.
