After finishing paying off and throwing a set of twin turbos on my 2018 mustang GT I knew I needed a daily. I went out and test drove the 2023 Altima SR 2.0 turbo, the Camry TRD, and the Honda Accord 2.0 and I ended up going with the Altima. Idk in my opinion it was the most comfortable car with the most space and the nicest interior and again that’s my opinion everyone’s opinion will differ

I was in the same situation as you some months ago. My initial choice was the Camry and 2nd was the Accord. They were not available so I gave the Altima a try. Best decision ever. Super smooth, cant even feel my speed down the highway. When I go over bumps, the car feels solid and in one piece. I drive uber 8hrs a day and do not feel any fatigue by the end of the day. The seats are the most comfortable I ever drove on. 140 000KM and still idles and drives like new. Only basic work done on it so far !

I picked one up in September of 23. Sky pearl gray. My wife says it's lavender, but whatever, lol. To be honest, I didn't understand why the price was so high as I was just looking for an Altima. THEN, I read the sticker and hell yeah I was getting it. Absolutely love it. However, I drive on the right lane at the speed limit most of the time, but it's good to know that whenever I have to go or I just lose patience, I'm GONE with the quickness. The interior is great with the red stitching and the seats might be the most comfortable ever besides my old Cadillac.

My dad had a 10 and now 22 Camry, same chassis w a deeper side sill step over and a much longer reach to close the front doors plus Nissan zero grav seats are way better. The Altima has gotten better wish the taillights were more LED these are some great cars see a lot of Altima and Camry models on the road but Toyota does last longer. Nissan is doing much better after Ghosn left since the brand has been making some good-looking cars wish Altima SR had a 9 speed automatic though CVT is perfectly fine because it's cousin uses it as well. The front end of the Altima looks amazing as new factory wheels design even interior got some major changes. So I cross shopped both as I do every couple year. it normally boils down to Honda civic, Altima or Camry and got a Nissan altima 2023 S model all seem to be good enough for the job so it basically boils down to the dealer experience for me ... ( Abeloff Nissan dealer). I had a 2022 SV awd, it really did feel like the quality of materials in 2021, 2022 were not all that, specially the cheap glass in the vehicle. the 2023 model feels more finished and better quality, had this for about 1 month so far and liking it. 180mile round trip from a 20ft elevation to a 1,900ft one and back down to around 5ft, it averages 35 to 40mpg on highway on 87 octane. so far i'm happy.

I’ve had both of these in their current generations. 2018 Camry SE and 2020 Altima SL. The Altima was a way better car for me. It had way more features at a nearly identical lease price. It was quieter regarding wind noise. The rims on the Toyota got bent after only a few months because it had rubber band sized tires. It also broke a wheel bearing. I had some door pillar trim coming off. I had no issues with the Nissan. It had more gloss black which I didn’t love. I only traded it because I got a great deal on a Q50. I don’t know what I’ll look at next because the car market is so screwed up, but I’m tempted to try the Altima again. Wish it had been updated with LED tail lights.

Initially, I was going to say, don't even need to watch to say, you cannot go wrong with either. Buy, lease or rent. Great cars. Great in the sense that they work for commute, town maybe cross country if you find the seating comfy enough. However, the Nissan based off your review wins. But they both still fit into any category and you cannot go wrong. Except maybe if you are flipping cars every 3 years a lease would save you money.

Only thing I could complain about is the them not being liftbacks. More sedans keep going for the slope backm getting rid of headspace and that giant trunk table sedan use to have. Also they are getting very very low. My brother's Camry is so ridiculously low. It's nice to drive. But that thing couldn't do any basic offroading or clear a curb. Life happens. Roads incline and decline suddenly. Sedans really need to raise the bodies up more. Idk what's with the desire to make everything sporty if it means it's can't even leave a paved surface most of the time. Crossovers ain't going offroading but that little bit of ground clearance helps for the little BS moments in life. And more specifically to the Camry. I hate those fake vents. They scream base model without foglights option on. The face lifted version of the last gen did it right. They look like they were suppose to be vents but were lights. I've seen a few of this current with aftermarket foglights or crazy LED strips that look really solid. I wish automakers would stop putting fake vents instead of foglights. Especially you MB.

Engineering Simply adding octane won't add power. Now if you said you have a tuner plugged into an obd port and you are using a MAP for 93 octane, then yes you can gain more horsepower. I have a fiesta st with all kinds of other parts, and a cobb tuner. When I switched to 93 octane and gave it a new MAP the cars computer or ECU, knew to change air to fuel ratios, timing, ignition alllllll that other stuff. The cars brain doesn't know the difference between octane levels.

If you're running premium in a car meant to run regular, you're probably only keeping your injectors nice and clean. You can run higher octane in a car meant for regular. The worst part about Toyota is sales people - I visited many dealers in couple states and it's always the same - they don't give a f... about customer, like you owe them for letting you pay and buy it. Local dealer where I bought Highlander almost got heart attack when I started reading all the documentation. He couldn't believe I just don't sign blindly on the spot. More than $50k car... Always very unpleasant experience. Completely different story with Nissan - I guess they have to "fight" for customer. That overall experience is one of the few reasons I regret dropping Nissan for Toyota. There is no comparison between Altima and Camry - you get much more for far less with Nissan. And Camry has that hideous multimedia screen. Nice looking outside, cool red seats (that's actually plus for Toyota) and then bang (!) - horrible and ridiculously awful old fashion TV screen.

Roman, (Edit: and Nathan) get down & look under the Camry and the Altima. They don’t have dual exhaust, only dual exhaust tips. Tommy uses proper terminology. This is years & years you say it wrong, yet you were saying it correctly with the Mercedes G-Squared!!! It’s an accuracy thing. People put a load of faith in what TFL says, so they may make a purchase decision, because of this. EG the Camry has “dual exhaust” vs the Altima having single exhaust. It’s not an accurate statement as both have SINGLE exhaust, just different exhaust tips. That’s a huge error when taken into consideration. Yes, it’s buyer beware, but they are taking your opinions and statements as accurate because you are seen as an expert.

@@ItsChrisWorld you are saying that there are 2 manifolds all the way up to the engine itself. It’s a 4 cylinder,,,,. Sorry. They are connected to two separate pipes, but there’s a point before the engine where it is one. It’s ultra rare a 4 cylinder has true dual exhaust. That would mean that the Altima has an exhaust manifold for 2 cylinders and then another for the other 2 cylinders. Even the V6 cars out there, but quite easy on a V8, if the vehicle is older and has the room for headers and 2 separate exhaust pipes all the way back from the engine compartment.
