Camaro Z28 at the time was my dream car, and I did buy a 84 Z28 H.O. later . modified, fast , simplistic, and bullet proof) and watching Motorweek. This is one good looking car, regardless of whether or not it's a hybrid. People used to buy Priuses despite their looks just to get the fuel efficiency/reliability, but this one is probably the most desirable Toyota available now based on looks alone, while it kept the other salient Prius advantages intact. Good job Toyota; this car will sell like hotcakes!

So if they get bumped they burst into torrential flames so fast the passengers usually can’t get out live the 2 ill-fated late car reviewers from a auto magazine, they burst into flames just sitting & will also burst into flames if they get water logged…but it’s not about the environment or air pollution or anything else it’s about removing your ability to escape from the smart city the UN agenda claims all people must live in under their 2030 agenda. California is modeling what will be done to everyone else with the “must buy a EV, now not allowed to charge EV. ” It’s about removing the freedom to leave a bad situation & remain trapped in their mega city. With any hybrid, you get a weak gas engine and an electric motor than can take you only a few miles. Hybrids were once relevant before EVs got a range of 300 to 400 miles, but no longer. Home charging will give you all the range you need for daily EV driving and there are charging stations that make road trips easy and enjoyable.

Now the only advantage it has a AWD too style and top mpg by a couple f miles while the others have room cargo space lower prices and once the Honda Civic hatch goes for sale style will be debatable.F you cannot get me for MSRP don't buy until next year when tons of competition plus lower ev prices and the model 2 for cheaper comes out.

I think it is funny how Toyota is taking all this grief for not embracing EV technology more aggressively. It is so totally Toyota - practical to the point of being boring, conservative and with zero interest in trying to be trendy. They do their homework, and they know very well that EV infrastructure is probably at least 10-15 years away from maturity. For now, if you park on the street, or frequently drive long distances, a hybrid makes a lot of sense. If you can charge at home, a plug in hybrid for full EV around town, married to gas for occasional long trips is easily the most practical choice. It makes the battery much cheaper, lowering the cost of the car, it means you don't get stranded when the one fast charger along your route is broken, etc. all while still capturing most of the social/environmental benefits of a full EV. In 20 years maybe we won't need the Prius, but I suspect this new version is going to sell very, very well. Anyone who bothers to do their homework will see what a compelling value it is.
@LrulestheworldM8
@LrulestheworldM8 Жыл бұрын
This will sell VERY well. Compared to it's EV competition, it's got a lot going for it. Half the price, double the range, and you don't have to charge it. It's a big win for everyone. These make sense. I'd never buy one, as I actually enjoy driving, and these are made for those who see a car as an a-b appliance. But at least those people have something affordable and decent looking to look forward to.
