I always considered the Jaguar F-Type a _"Gentleman's GT"._ That is to say, it was an up-scale version of the Mustang GT. Of course, I grew up with Jaguar of yesteryear when they were still owned by Ford Motor Company. In fact, I was an employee of FoMoCo. around that time. So I was *accustom to seeing them [Jaguar's] with Ford motors. Hence the correlation between Mustang GT and Gentlemen's GT. The problem with Jaguar as we know them today stems from the fact that they are now owned by Tata Motors. (If you know - you know...) This India based company has sullied the once proud name of the Jaguar brand. Their plan is (in full swing I might add) to ditch _ALL_ of Jaguar's motorsports history in favor of electrifying everything. It pains me to say this but the Jaguar we once knew and loved ceased to exist after this acquisition back in 2008. More specifically, _after_ the merger of Land Rover and Jaguar back in 2013. That was truly the final 'nail in the coffin' for Jaguar as a whole. FWIW, I think the F-Type was the last of the commendable Jaguar models and I truly hate to see it depart. Yes! I will be sad to see the F-Type go. However, they really need to come out with a new model as this one is showing it's age. And yes, some interior materials definitely don't belong in a $120K car.

Some of it may have been made standard, but they removed a lot of upgraded leather options (at minimal ~$2000 intervals for a max of something like $5,000) over the last 3/4 generations, and if the 120k is fully loaded it is about 4,000 less than what it would have costed with those options. There is too much plastic for even that price but it does bring the interior up to par for a minimal price. Compare that to a $90,000 Cayman GTS 4.0 which has all injection molding for that price lol.

Very good review. You nailed it on the P450. I was looking for a R P575, and ended up buying the 2023 P450 when couldn't find a P575 last summer. Dollar for dollar, the P450 is a much better value for essentially the same engine. Its a rocket off the line and people ask if have launch control. Then can upgrade the P450 to HP with simple pulley change after out of warranty. Just upgraded tires on P450 to the Pilot Sport 4S 265 on front, and 305 on rear. Same size as the R. The F-Type P450 is best combination of styling, performance, luxury, exclusivity and value, that the Lexus, Vette, BMW, Merc etc can't match. I think Carpathian Grey is one of the best colors, as it changes color depending on sunlight. The BRG is classic and i am happy with Santorini Black i found in a showroom. The metal flake is spectacular in bright sunshine. Just received F-Pace SVR in Santorini Black as well (has same engine as the F-Tpye R P575). F-Pace SVR has throatier exhaust note, while the F-Type is raspier . Agree on your rim comments. The diamond turned silver rims are stunning and classic looking. I bought customer 10 spoke rims for my P450 and got the silver diamond turned rims for my F-Pace SVR.

This video popped up in my KZbin feed at the perfect time. I am actually purchasing a sports car (GT type that I can daily drive) next Sunday on the 23rd of July. I am already approved for financing as I got this out of the way a couple of days ago. I test drove the new 2024 LC500 (yes, the one that has the new touchscreen infotainment system/they finally got rid of the track pad) last weekend and it was fun but it was too luxurious and did not really feel like a sports car so-to-speak. I do not like the rear diffuser as it hides the quad exhaust tips. I am also looking at the C8 as well but my issue is no dealers will let me test drive it and I am not sure how I would like it as a daily driver. The third and final car I am looking at is a F-Type. I found a used 2021 R with super low miles on it for a good price. But I am also looking into a new P450 RWD and also a P450 AWD. I prefer AWD but would not complain if I end up with the RWD. If I get the F-Type then I was going to take it straight from the dealer to a vehicle wrap shop and have it wrapped in a deep satin black color with either yellow or orange wrap outlining around the quad exhaust in the rear, on the sideskirts/rocker panels, and maybe in the front a little bit, and also have the brake calipers painted orange. And then I was going to put some aftermarket black gloss wheels on called Savini BM-15 which are directional and have a concave look to them. All this would be done in 1 weeks time after I purchase the car. And then lastly I would buy an aftermarket exhaust from a company called Quicksilver so that I can get the snap, crackles, and pops, just like the older F-Types use to have. Those are just my thoughts. Not too mods are out there for the LC500, but definitely more for the Jag and the C8. What are your thoughts? Which way should I go? --- Lexus LC500, Chevy C8, or Jag F-Type?

Glad to have this pop up at the right time! The LC is definitely the least aggressive setup, but has an insane factory soundtrack and is one heck of a comfortable daily. The C8 is shockingly comfortable as well, and is the quickest and most capable with its mid-engine setup. My only C8 issue is that I see too many of them (and the rear view is a little bizarre to my eyes). I honestly didn't feel a big performance difference between the F Type R and the P450, so if you can lock in a brand new warranty on a P450, that might be the best play.

Great review. Just got my F Type R75 today. Your review is spot on other than I wouldn't compare this to the Corvette Z06 as a competitor. The Supercharged V8 engine makes this superior to the Lexus LC500 or Porsche 718 Cayman (more HP and faster too). Yes, it's not 100% sport and it's not 100% luxury, it's alot of each and that's why I like this version. Thank you for your review of the car. It's become a trend, yes, it just sucks because sensors do the trick, but being able to see with your eyes is very assuring, and blind spots can make you feel claustrophobic.

There's a dedicated launch mode on the F-Type (facelift). In the Dynamic Mode, you have to step on the gas pedal and the brake pedal at the same time for a few seconds, and then let the brake pedal go.

YA’LL Buy the 2014-2015 Jag. F-Type V8S RWD 495hp. V8 The V8 RWD was only made for 2-years. Can be bought used for Under $30k. USD. And then a cheap ECU reflash will have it making 600-crank HP. With Zero bolt-on parts. There is not another Factory car under $30k. That can touch it

Weird review because you compare the Z06 which cost well above its MSRP and is hard to find and you recommend the less expensive F-type with smaller tires and even softer suspension where the buyer will end up online trying to make his car an R version. 🤦🏼‍♀️Honestly, there is no 2 seater that competes against the F-type. Finally, KZbinrs really discredit themselves when they mention the racetrack. Nobody, is gonna buy a Z06 (new) and race it COMPETITIVELY on the racetrack!🤦🏼‍♀️😂 Therefore, the F-type R at amateur race track speeds is more fun than the Z06 because of the sound and its looks AND status.☮️

@@cruisersupsupport4502 It's how Lexus showcases every single one of their modern cars. Each cars airway system is different. The way in which air passes through the car depends on the grill size and since each cars have different systems, we can't always blame the grills. If they built the car with pretty much capable engine, it needs a grill big enough to cool the engine. I pretty much like how the rear lights of LC500 is showcasing a 3D Halo effect and this would not be found in any other cars
