ALL FROM THE BIBLE From the Lord was this (this is referring to the chief cornerstone who is Jesus) , the word WAS is egeneto (made or came into being) - Matthew 21:42 and the exact Greek word used in John 1:3 - MADE, egeneto (came into being) - JESUS WAS MADE/CAME INTO BEING FROM THE FATHER , yes, Jesus was MADE/CREATED!, See also Acts 2:36, Heb 1:5, 1 john 5 Jesus in FACT mentioned the FATHER IS GREATER than I am. It's SO unrealistic that a perfectly happy couple would just decide to dive headfirst into a cult. Also the way they react to the JWs, it's like they've never heard of religion before? Most people would be like, yeah I grew up Christian and it's not for me, or yeah I've heard this bit a million times before in response to things like "Do you think god hears our prayers?" Instead they're like "It's god's holy work? Holy shit." These little things like "Did you know god loves you?" are so overdone and babyish but they act like it's revolutionary lol.

The snake scene was, filmographically speaking, an excellent scene. Everybody already knows the story, so having the characters speak would not only have been goofy, but feel like padding. A silent look at the snake, then back, preserved the tension of the scene and made the snake look sinister in a subtle way. Finally, it's good that the fruit wasn't an apple, as it's never described as an apple. A weird-looking fictional fruit is probably the best portrayal of a fruit that's meant to be a metaphor anyways. Never thought I'd be praising something JW-related, but man, that scene was surprisingly well done.

Really great video going over the total nonsense of these conventions! A friend of mine is ex-JW, she’ll love this. One small bit of constructive criticism, the volume of the more frequent sound effects is much louder than your voice, and it’s kind of jarring. Levelling out that sound would make the video a lot more enjoyable. That being said, it’s up to you how you make your videos, and you’re obviously great at it! Thanks again for the excellent 3 hours.

If JW were the majority religion, the congregation would be the prosecutors. No one deserves to be imprisoned for their faith, but also knowing what I know of this cult I could see them trying to silence other religions if they were the dominate in a nation/region. Blame the leaders not the followers, hold followers accountably for the actions they took and take justice on religious leaders for encouraging such.

The outside world probably didn’t know who they were. The religious leaders are probably aware of them now that JWs are in the news worldwide. Very negative publicity but newsworthy if the religious community in general. The courts are concerned about human rights being violated, children being s** abused & a variety of crimes hidden for years. As these crimes are exposed, the world is watching ⚖️

The converted JW with emotional and mental or with life problems are vulnerable and this org takes advantage of it - as you said Panda! To later get more depressed in this org. In the congregation I used to assist and still are there many are using Rx for anxiety and depression so there is no cure becoming JW! Thank you panda!!

The canon wasn't chosen by the Catholic church, not exactly. It was more a popularity contest. The books that made canon were basically the ones that were the most popular (with 2 exceptions, Shepherd of Hermas and Revelation according to John). Of course once the canon was made official, the church ordered every other text destroyed.

@@angelawossname I am, it was long and through succession of councils to establish to cannon of the new testament, the old testament was agreed to be the septugent. I'd recommend a book on the council of Carthage if you want to learn more. Sorry for coming off as a bit of an ass lol.

@birb349 okay. There was more than one council at Carthage, and it was Hippo where the NT canon was first agreed upon. That doesn't negate what I said, though. The canon was chosen because those texts were the most popular. No other reason. If you are upset that I used "Catholic " instead of "Orthodox", I only did that to simplify things, which is what I expected you to do when I asked where I was wrong, not recommended me a book. I only want to know the basics when it comes to anything after 300 CE, history bores me after that point. And yes, you did come across as an arsehole. Why do you even watch this if you are a practising Orthodox?

@@birb3491. Being orthodox doesn't lend credence to what you say, the facts do. 2. The other guy is right, canon was determined by which texts were liked - and knowing that humans can err, then even if this god is real, who's to say they correctly identified his every word as canon? For all we know they threw out the truth and kept some false writings in. 3. For all your bravado for knowing the truth because "you're orthodox", you didn't really raise any points other than "read XY book".

I know this isn't important, but my brother and his wife hate Indian food. Obnoxiously so. My husband and I got our wedding dinner at our country's highest rated Indian restaurant (funnily enough about a year before it got that rating so the prices were pretty fantastic too). For no fucking reason, they both bragged about how much they didn't like the food and went to McDonald's afterwards. To be clear, the obnoxious part isn't not enjoying a cuisine (that's obviously fine) but it was very trashy to unprompted say you hated someone's wedding dinner. Im just finding you channel and have been binging them. My story feels a lot different than most. My dad was raised as a JW with my grandparents. He is an only child and they where S T R I C T. Well eventually he got caught with w33d (this was also like the early 80s) and they DF'd him and kicked him out at SEVENTEEEN. He was still in high school!! They cut him off for a very long time and idk when they started talking again but they did. My older siblings where forced to go to our Nazarene Christian Church some weeks with my mom and other times forced to go to meeting with my grandparents. No one in my family practices or believes. Eventually they started making me as well. I have S O many stories growing up in an out of the hall. Well in 2017 my dad had two strokes and completely changed. And now they have SUCKED him back into it. I was barely 15. Now he is fully back in the cult and i dont talk to him nor my GPs. It makes me so sad but i know if i had actually grown up with the JWs, i would hsve been DF'd, so i just did it myself. This religion breaks familes apart every. Single. Day. And i love seeing it flail and fail

Welp lemme tell you from a teenager stuck with strict JW parents, you’re one lucky person. I shouldn’t be saying lucky but it’s stuff I don’t believe in and I’m only here because I’m forced to. And it’s horrible to be in JW. I can’t describe how many horrible stuff I see and hear.

1:32:59 I started bursting out laughing, because my cynical mind immediately assumed bro had enough of these dang JW door-knockers coming around his door and annoying him, and he was about to administer a holy can of whoop-@ss with that giant wrench in his hand. I don't know if that jumbo-wrench was supposed to be symbolic, like a "barrier" they had to get past, but it stood out to me. I laughed even more when the other guy said , "I see you got your hands full", because given the context my mind first took this situation, it told me he's got some MAAAJOR balls. Like he's beyond the GAF state and would dutifully take a few knocks up the head with a ginormous wrench for Jehovah. Because if some stranger answered their door with a giant wrench in tightly-gripped hand, with zero context, and looking at bit done with everything, I'm outta there, or at least backing tf up, because my common survival sense tells me to. Those JWs are braver (or stupider) than I.

The most common writing accept ed by most chur he's was the Didache' which did not make it into the Canon. If they look at the Didache' would discredit their memorial and baptism. They claim they recreate the early church.

you know, I’m cringing just at the idea about this convention’s existence. What are they trying to say here. They have downplayed Jesus for decades as less important than “Jahovah”. Jesus was the main character who actually cared about others. I guess they don’t like that? Because they don’t care about others.

I do believe there is something bigger than Jesus but JW makes it seem like BS rather than fact. Every time JW makes me feel like the Bible is some fairy tale made to create ideas and beliefs.

If you are reading the Bible or is truly knowledgeable about biblical messages, you should have known that it was Jehovah who sent His only begotten son on earth. Jesus just obeyed his Father. Everything happened because it was Christ’s Father’s plans how to buy back humanity through His only begotten son.

Even the early apostles, believers and even Christ were persecuted for telling the truth. The same message is being preached by Jehovah’s Witnesses all over the world until today. And the Bible had been very very clear that the same persecutions will happen today as it happened in Christ’s time. John the Baptist had been telling people “Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand.” For centuries now since the time of John the Baptist the same kingdom message is being spread across the globe by these faithful Witnesses. Maybe majority of the people now have found it boring waiting for that Kingdom to come. But it’s God’s plan and arrangement. Surely, in His own designated time it will come. Reason why everyone is advised to be awake all the time. A lot of people are even scared thinking about the “end” but the Bible itself says:” When you see these things [signs] happening, be glad because your redemption is at hand. Matthew 24:37-39: “Just as the days of Noah were… they take no note until the flood came and swept them all away, so the presence of the son of man will be.” Luke 18:7-8:”Shall not God cause justice to be done for His chosen one’s who cry out to him day and night, even though he is long-suffering toward them? I tell you, He will cause justice to be done to them speedily.” Just keep up with all your ridicules. The God and Father of Jesus Christ sees it all the time. 2 Thess. 1:8- “He brings vengeance upon those who do not know God and those who do not obey the good news about our Lord Jesus.”
