Here, I'll write a good ending for this story if anyone here got as depressed as I did when watching this. Robbie's girlfriend was, in fact, the kind and wholesome girl he said she was, and once he told her the elders wanted him to cut ties with her and were gonna disfellowhip him regardless of if he did so or not, she showed compassion to him, and since he was gonna lose all his friends and family, she became his last remaining company. She didn't pressure him into marriage, knowing that he was still too distraught at everything that happened, but she offered him to remain his girlfriend and he, for that moment, came to his senses and accepted her at his side. Once it became clear to both of them at the appeal that there was nothing Robbie could do to save his ties with his family, she chose that if would be best for him to rebuild his life with other people, who respected him as a person and wouldn't subject him to such religious manipulation. She moved with him to the other side of the country, back to her home city, where he got to meet her family and friends, who would not only gladly welcome him as a new member, but also help them both with the difficulties of the girl's pregnancy, slowly helping Robbie to experience what an actual family's unconditional love feels like, which would bring him to gradually beat his religious indoctrination and see the horrors he was put through as a JW. 6 months later he tried, for the last time, to reconnect with his parents and old friends, because even now that he had a new support network and no longer wished to remain in the cult, he still wanted to at least talk to his mother and father again, because he still loved them. This request, however, was rejected, and as Robbie's last hope of reconnecting with his old family ended, his determination to build a better life began, with the woman he loved and who saved him in his worst moment, a new family who came to welcome him as one of their own, friends that respected and showed compassion to him and a child yet to come in merely a few months, that settled it. Being taken away from the cult had helped him become a better man and appreciate the good people around him. He was gonna miss his old family and hope that one day they'd come to their senses and look for him, but until that day came, he had but one path to follow. This time, it was him who asked her in marriage, and now as a free man away from the hateful eyes of the Watchtower, with who he saw as the most beautiful woman in the entire world at his side, he became the best husband and father he could ever hope to be. *The End.* I hoped this helped somehow for the few who read it all the way through. I am certain a story similar to this one has definitely happened somewhere in the world, and that makes me happy.

And this from a self-professed “pro-life” cult. If, for the sake of the argument suggested by this demonstration, Lucy is expecting, the decent thing would be for the congregation committee to advise Robby to step up and take responsibility by providing for Lucy and for the potential child. Despite its virulent opposition to reproductive freedom, the Society, through this demonstration, is telling the servants-particularly, members of the committees-that it’s better to be hypocritical and infer that Lucy, by virtue of not being a witness, should contemplate abortion than it is for the committee to not exercise a personal vendetta against Robby.
@thomash.schwed36624 ай бұрын
@@cellytronOf course, even when her name is mentioned, it’s meant as, not a name, but a euphemism for how the Society views the scenario. “Lucy” is meant as a euphemism for “loose conduct”-what the Society now calls “brazen conduct”. As a Christian, I hope nobody thinks all of us are like this. In my Church, we don’t just kick someone out for one sin. Our elders actually help the troubled one out of it. That’s what their job should be; Jesus even says in Luke 5:31 “It is not those who are healthy who need a doctor, but those who are sick.” My problem with the JWs is that they don’t make judgement based on what the Bible says, they add their singular beliefs on top, completely disorienting God’s true word. I don’t expect nor want anyone calling me the smartest man on Earth, I just wanna make sure people know that not all followers in Christ do what Watch Tower does.
@costelinha18674 ай бұрын
Look, I cannot tell about your church in particular, but plenty of christians and churches kinda already ensured that the way you're viewed by many people aren't exactly that much better than JW's. If anything, the mental picture that I have from a lot of stories of people who left the church due to this mess is honestly just a "Jeheova's witness, diet edition". You say JW's "don’t make judgement based on what the Bible says, they add their singular beliefs on top, completely disorienting God’s true word." My guy, I'm sorry to break it to you, but that's kinda one of the things christianity became infamous for doing as well... So much so that it literally became a joke among former-christians that christians don't actually read the bible. Again, I'm not accusing you or your church of doing that, but christianity as a whole has a lot to do to build a positive reputation back up. And it has nothing necessarely to do with JW's corrupting our views of christianity because, we kinda mostly always got that you 2 were mostly different things, but due to the actions of your own higher ups... Look, I know not all christians are like this, and I am really, terribly sorry that your religion's reputation has been tarnished by corrupt individuals to that point, specially because from what I've seen, it can have the power to be a genuine force for good.....

@@lePirateMan okay well it’s to a certain extent. If there’s a law that requires a set punishment for a sin like murder or pedophelia then it’s up to the authorities. It’s more of like helping with social sin like sleeping around, gossip, anger, or miss using the lord’s name. Same goes for priests, a church nearby me there was an incident of an elder messaging a minor, and the rest of the staff there had to get the police involved. Or was that put in to deal with government officials who are extremely concerned that an extra judicial process exists in their country? And do these men ever think that people who tell them precisely what they want to hear are actually a greater danger than someone who struggles to articulate their experience and the concomitant feelings? And please note not reading once from the Bible when making this horrid decision. And please note how the good ole boys call the committee to discuss. My entire life as a JW I said that confessions are evil, because a human judges your sin... Now I am Orthodox... Go to confession often... The rules of confession forbid you from giving details... If this guy went to an Orthodox priest to confess, all he needed to say would be "I conitted fornication... I repent of my sin" done... Finished... No need for absolutely anything else... Even if he didn't go there, he would at worst be denied communion, but could talk to anyone he wished and the priest would encourage him to stay with the woman and be a father, or at least help them financially since he is now a father... I think I have the better deal now thank you... I can't believe I used to think judicial committees are superior to confessions...
