Funny thing is in Europe you can get the GLC as a 6 cylinder - the 450d. 367 metric hp and is slightly quicker than this Amg, while achieving over 550 miles of range. And to my fellow Americans, Diesel is still one of the most common engine types in Europe. The inline 6 (OM656) is very silent, linear and powerful. Just like the bmw 30/40/50d series (B57)

That's weird, you'd think that tinted windows would come on the lower car because it's closer to SUV/truck headlight height. 19:41 as an AMG owner, there’s ways around this to ensure you’re getting a smoother ride quality. First off, if you have 21” wheels, anyone with a level-head knows you’re going to have a rough ride. That, coupled with whether you have good tire tread / pattern. 20” AMG wheels makes all the difference, and is the sweet spot for looks + performance and ride quality. Secondly, lean into adjusting your adaptive suspension dampers. Unless I’m doing harsh corners, etc., I’ll keep everything in Sport+ mode, dynamic power train mode, minus the suspension - that gets adjusted to comfort mode, and it makes ALL the difference over rough roads. It’s not airbag suspension quality, but man… it’s damn close, and makes the road a lot more smoother.

Our daily driver is a 2018 GLC 300, which we bought new. It has proved to be a remarkable car, probably the best, most reliable all-rounder we have owned. It is also the smoothest SUV I have ever driven. It's engine at the time was 240 hp and it is plenty for that vehicle. The reason no tinted rear windows is due to it being considered a wagon by the US Government due to the low ride height.
@bwofficial1776
@bwofficial1776 3 ай бұрын
I don't see what the correlation is. If I'm paying Mercedes money, I'd expect it to have tinted windows standard instead of having to go out and have the windows replaced myself. A car with a low ride height needs tinted windows more because it's at truck/SUV headlight height.
@jimbo5728
@jimbo5728 3 ай бұрын
@bwofficial1776 fair enough, but you don't replace the windows, you just go to a reputable tint shop and won't tell the difference between factory and aftermarket.

@wowdogeful
@wowdogeful 3 ай бұрын
It isn't really. It's the crossover equivalent to a C-Class, which is a midsize car. The GLE is large and the GLS is gargantuan, but the GLC is just a regular midsize SUV similar in size to a Skoda Kodiaq or Volkswagen Tiguan.
@damilolaakanni
@damilolaakanni 3 ай бұрын
@wowdogeful by American standards the C Class is a compact car, it competes with the BMW 3 series, Genesis G70, Audi A4, Lexus IS etc. Since the GLC is based on the C Class, that makes it a compact crossover by American standards. Remember that they have the Chevrolet Surburban and Ford Expedition which are full size SUVs.

And also, this M139 engine does have some turbo lag. You don’t feel it because it has an electric turbo to eliminate the turbo lag. The older M139 in A45S definitely feels the lag. But with these new longitudinal M139L version Merc gives a lot of electrics to assist it, giving it more power and less lag.

We got a 17 GLC 300 since new and it’s been good over the last 7 years. Very nice handling vehicle even in base model and the base engine is surprisingly quick for a 4 cylinder. I can only imagine how great the AMG is. Only complaints of the vehicle is a rattling interior, bad sounding 4 cylinder, and a ride that is too stiff-probably due to run flats.
