The issues people have with the 4cylinder turbo are ridiculous If you drive it like a sports car it won’t last long but if you drive it like diesel then it could last a long time Low revs under 3000 rpm using that low down torque Drive like a heavy footed clown and you will junk it like everything else😅

Why should I have to baby my engine ? I don’t race or speed, but just drive. Turbos just puts extra stress on an engine.

@joeblack1052 17 күн бұрын
@@dave3657 driving a vehicle in its peak torque band is normal If one is using the torque and the engine is built for it then it should be no different to running a V6 at higher revs to find that peak torque If you had a turbo diesel you wouldn’t be revving it out like sports car especially a truck where it usually has engine configured for low end torque Too many people think turbo and performance when these new turbos are designed to give good torque at low displacement The enemy of the turbo is heat ,higher revs all the time equals more heat and it is now out of its peak torque and pointless With 8 ratios there is no need for a heavy foot if you want to argue otherwise fine. The public has to educate themselves on how to use smaller displacement turbos correctly and get the old thinking of hitting the redline out of their heads

@@chibbyylol Regardless of price there are some issues with the new taco. Internal bump stops with cheapo cast aluminum top hats will explode if you hit something just right Cast aluminum not a good choice as the shock will drive right up into the wheel well. What happened to the frame mounted bump stops? Other issue is no proper trans intercooler so the rear diff can overheat when towing or off roading. The transmission is also experiencing total failures with some drivers requiring a new trans. And those are on backorder. Back seat room is a joke but on the TRD the back seats are totally useless. Not even a 5 year old could fit in that. In all I think the QC on these new ones are pretty comical. Obviously they feel people don't intend to do anything but mall crawl. Allot of corners cut. Turbos can last a long time if you drive them right. Warm-up and cool-down are critical. Oil changes should be more frequent than what the OCI calls for. Short trips should be avoided. Use good quality fuel, not that Seven Eleven crap Kirk filled up with. Turn off the start-stop feature. Those are just plain stupid. To be honest, though, you should do that with any engine.

Test drove a TRD off-road. Not impressed. Feels like a cheap interior. Too much hard plastic and very cramped, and the fuel tank is too small. I am 6’, 220, and shoulder room is awful. My brother owns a 2018 Tacoma Limited with horrible transmission shift issues. Despite this, I told him I would not bother with the new Tacoma.

New Tacoma has a excellent interior and doesn't feel cheap whatsoever compared to its rivals. Interior space in the new Tacoma is perfectly fine and if people really want more space they would buy a tundra or something. Overall full majority of people love and impressed. Again I respect your opinion very much

@@KirkKreifels yeah. its only missing the duct tape holding the "ipad to the dash" look LOl. Nissan was the same way. i bought a 2023 Frontier because i could get the long bed in the work truck 4x4 version and i did not want the new turbo toyotas. now for 2025 the dash mounted screen looks much more integrated. cheers man.

Fuel mpg is based on flat grade at constant speed, gives best ballpark for most driving. Obviously most are smart enough to know towing stuff will lower it and only going downhill will raise it

For me it's not the mpg or 4 cylinder as much as the insane price tag. I wanted one really bad but after dealership mark-ups I was looking at 70k and that was for the off-road, not even the pro.
