I like it, simple and not complicated. OEMs today are packing cars up to the gunnel with features the driver doesn’t need which jacks up the price

Dan, The market is still waiting for the CX-50 Hybrid which is dependent on Toyota Hybrid components. I would imagine Subaru has to wait in line behind Mazda to get theirs.

I will keep my 2014 Forester XT. Too bad southerly north americains did not appreciate this 2 liter turbo marvel of smoothness and quiet power.

Subarus definitely creeping up in cost 2024. Certainly worth it, but no longer a steal like 2023 and earlier. About 5K Canadian or more up each model, Crosstrek, Outback, ect

For those not off-roading, perhaps the Toyota Venza makes more sense --- what ya think? The Toyota hybrid has the better interior, and exterior looks, and sells for less than the non-hybrid Foresters, once you get into higher trims. It is so close the the Sport, price wise. Has Subaru pricing gone overboard? I have seen the new Forester in a dark gray metallic, base model, and it was pretty boring -- bland all around. Not even manual lumbar support on the base models. The blue or red might spice things up, but the grill just looks like a huge chunk of plastic. Why didn't they just eliminate the upper half which is not open anyway? Maybe they use the water base paints and are attempting to keep the chipping down --- a good thing, perhaps.

Pretty sure the Venza starts at the price of the highest trim Forester. The base Forester is almost 10 grand cheaper and is roomier than the Venza. The only real advantage is fuel economy. I drive around 15000km a year so the cost saving is negligible considering the almost 10k higher price. The Venza looks like an old man vehicle. The Buick of Suv's.

@@Mike-ln2bo Perhaps older men understand substance, and quality / engineering. The Venza has the look and styling of a Lexus.

Really does look like a ford, the original front end of the edge or fusion is what i think of.....ill keep my Crosstrek....

I think you mean Ford Edge. Crosstrek is still too small.

It's shame that Subaru don't have any Hybrid car or suv yet ..........falling behind all other Car makers .wake up SUBARU😔

Yes but at the same time no other Car makers have the Symmetrical AWD, I think trying to have that AWD and a Hybrid it's was keeping them behind

Am not really impressed…haven’t been impressed with Subarus due to their boring boxer engines and CVT! Only nice thing going for them is their Symmetrical AWD

Yes, they've been soldiering on with this 2.5L for a long time now, and it is just falling further behind other cars on the road. I have not driven a '25 (which has minor tweaks to the engine tune, with 2 HP fewer and 2 torque more, and apparently slightly revised gearing) but drove several trim levels of the '24. My point of comparison is my '14 XT, which I have had since new. The 2.5 is "adequate" up to about 45 or 50, but when trying to accelerate to 60-70, it really runs out of steam and that next 10 mph gain after about 50 is agonizingly slow. It is even worse in the Outback, which is lugging around an extra 300-400 lbs. There are some good deals to be had on a '24, and I was close to pulling the trigger, but after sleeping on it, I just could not bring myself to spend another 7-10 years with this drivetrain. Looking elsewhere, and/or hoping the eventual hybrid (long overdue) can put a little more punch in this thing. Fortunately,, my XT has been rock solid, but at 133K miles, I prefer to be thinking about something new. It was a sad day when someone in the front office decided to nix the XT Forester. (BTW, the current XT Outback is lacking vs my Forester. They did nothing to the suspension, brakes, wheels/tires as part of the Outback's XT package, and now sport modes are buried two screens deep in the clunky infotainment system/interface instead of real buttons on the steering wheel.)

People still by them so I guess their not too worried…also Toyota isn’t any better at updating and people still buy those too…so maybe just let the car manufacturer keep doing what they do

They will definitely sell a shit ton more of them than whatever vehicle you are marketing
