This was a helpful video. I got an idea from the glucose goddess, unsweetened kefir in a bowl with Frozen organic blueberries, Tahini, cinnamon, flax seed, a little cocoa powder, unsweetened coconut, and Richard's peanut butter powder and walnuts. So yum
@tinad6812Ай бұрын
I make my own ice cream with bananas. I can’t really eat it anymore because bananas spike my glucose, but here’s the recipe… I just add in the ingredients to a blender without measurements A few bananas (Not too ripe or will spike glucose) Frozen strawberries or raspberries (raspberries don’t spike blood sugar) A heaping spoon of coconut cream (I use Let’s Do Organic) You can use avocado instead of coconut cream or add both to help keep glucose steady. Blend it. Use the tool that comes with the blender to push it down. It’s loud and requires some muscle. You can do non-frozen bananas, because it makes it easier and then put them in little cups and put in the freezer. You can eat it right away. This ice cream has to be put in the refrigerator or out in room temperature a little while before eating because it does freeze solid. It tastes delicious. You don’t have to feel deprived of not being able to eat a dessert. You can add whatever like chocolate or cacao powder if you can eat it. Enjoy! 🥳

Are natural flavorings listed? Anything can be in ice cream and listed as natural flavorings, even if the ingredients are unnatural. The large food companies are allowed to define what "natural flavorings" are and they are not in many cases natural as far as most people would interpret the word natural.

I went through your video quickly, and didn’t see if you mentioned “ice cream” made from cottage cheese. I just tried this recipe yesterday. I have it in the freezer and haven’t tried it yet, but it was creamy and looked wonderful like ice cream when I put it into the container to freeze. Salted caramel ice cream from cottage cheese 1 cup cottage cheese 1 teaspoon vanilla 3 tablespoons maple syrup A sprinkle of sea salt -mix in a food processor -then add 2-3 dates in pieces (I also added some organic pecans) -pulse a couple seconds in food processor until smooth. -put in a ramekin or container & freeze Enjoy!

Rule of thumb: the more ingredients are listed on the declaration label the more the product needs to be avoided. Up to five ingredients on the list might be tolerable (but of course nothing artificial, or really unhealthy), all else should be left to rot on the shelf.

The skim milk is a cheaper ingredient. She advised against it in Ice Cream which by definition would be mixed with cream.

@@jenniferdwight262 , even though skim milk is highly processed, I'd rather have it than xanthan gum or some other artificial stabilizer. My favorite frozen desert is frozen banana whizzed in a blender or food processor with a tiny bit of nut milk to help it processes... Oh! And a drizzle of chocolate syrup. Nothing else. No added sugar necessary. Actually any frozen fruit will do. But we always have over ripe banana in the freezer! 💕🌞🌵😷
