Today we share with you 3 of our most important flexibility stretches/mobility exercises for movement.
No matter what age or fitness level, you can start using these to improve your functional movement skills.
These are stretches and movements we have taken from our training in parkour.
Most of you are familiar with parkour. However, if you are new to our channel, parkour is an advanced movement discipline.
The goal of parkour is to efficiently go from one place to another using just your body to over come any obstacles you encounter.
You train efficient body movements such as running, jumping, climbing, crawling, and vaulting.
Through this training we discovered that most of these functional movements mainly require flexibility/mobility in 3 key areas.
It's important to build flexibility and mobility through the whole body. However, if you are just starting or you only have time to focus on a few areas, these would be the 3 most important that we recommend.
I'd recommend training these exercises, twice a day, 5 days a week to get the best results.
Use these 3 stretches and you will notice a big increase in your flexibility/mobility for your movement skills & training.
Now if you are interested in learning more about parkour and developing some of the beginner moves...
Be sure to grab you free 5 day parkour course here: bit.ly/2z6n7Qs

My favorite stretch/mobility exercise would have to be quadrupedal movement. A few months back you helped me discover this technique and since I have been able to implement in many ways and I have seen much improvement in my strength, coordination and ability to move freely in general :).

Reciprocating movements due to the fact that it not only works critical areas of the body and conditions the muscles needed for rigorous movement, but it also allows for your neuropathways to rewire as you utilize differnt muscles and different areas of the brain for what seems to be the same movement.

Simply leg raises, they increase hip/thigh flexibility without having to do static stretches and so you can do things like kick higher, it helps relive stress in the inner thigh. It also it helps with other things but I can't think of them right now.

Hip flexor stretch (quads AND psoas) is crucial for low back health a mobility in general. Most people in our culture have grossly shortened hip flexors from sitting so much.

My favorite stretch is the hip hinch(I hope u wrote it right) because I'm just struggling with my das/kash/lazy vault also as you guys said in the video this will also help you to take more impact when you(aka me or the viewer) land and will help you to get the perfect pk landing and I might also like the shoulder stretch cuz yeah I'm kinda struggling in reaching up walls still didn't try to climb walls but I know myself anyways thanks to you guys you both made me learn the perfect pk roll and basic landing soon I will lose weight get the agility, mobility and flexibility and become a good parkour player thanks 👍👌

Shoulder range of motion it A+ and squats are no problem but the hinge is killer for me, I have horrible back pain. Just sitting with my back straight hurts so much. (L5/S1) Is this more of a tight hamstring, glute, calf issue? I can't seem to get to the "bottom" of my back pain and it drives me crazy. I'm 100% committed to getting the hinge motion, any ideas? I think you two are the most dynamic guys on utube, I'm so impressed by you! Thanks so much for the videos and introduction to Parkour

Useful, thank you :) But I'm confused about that stretch you did with the shoulders. When you lift your arms up, what are you doing at that point? I can't see the stretch you do at the top as you're standing side-on so nothing visibly changes. Are you stretching your arms sideways or just holding them up?

Should demonstrate in slow motion and REPEAT please, otherwise we got confused. Also please explain how to align BREATHING with each exercise, ie when to breathe in, when to hole if at all and when to breathe out.

Hi! Great incentive video! My question is about squats, specifically!Back in my younger days I was committed in endurance and competitive horse racing of up to 100 miles per race, I WAS really in shape like you guys are! I was interviewed on a radio station and challenged by the WWWF to become a professional Woman wrestler instead of finishing medical school. I took on the challenge and was being trained by Jessie The Body, Ventura. Jessie couldn't believe my powerful leg strength from caring and riding horses all my life, so one day he said he wanted to SEE how many squats I could do! After doing about 40, without effort, he then added a 25# bar for me to hold over my shoulders as I did the squats. I made it to 129! WELL, let me tell you, I never have wanted to do another squat, for the rest of my LIFE!!! Now YOU GUYS HAVE INSPIRED ME TO DO SQUATS AND EVERY THING ELSE (ALMOST) that you offer! MY BIGGEST QUESTION: HOW SHOULD SOMEONE LIKE ME, WHO IS NOW 61 YEARS OLD, FEMALE AND IN BETTER SHAPE THAN MOST WOMEN MY AGE, GENTLY START BACK TO DO THE THING I HATE THE MOST, WITH LEGS THAT DONT WANT TO DO A SINGLE SQUAT, EVER AGAIN?!!! THANKS Much! I'll appreciate the challenge!
