Rob I noticed at the end of the straight you’d shift into neutral and roll for a bit before trying to put it back into gear. You should try and either shifting to 6th then braking and downshifting all the way to 4th or if you don’t want to use 6th before the corner staying in 5th while braking and downshift to 4th for the corner. Keeping the car in gear is essential to not upsetting it while cornering as well as it being a little dangerous to roll around a racetrack in neutral as you don’t have the ability to quickly use the throttle.

Liked for visibility. It's fine enough on the street, but when pushing the car and having fast cars possibly around, it's a dangerous habit.

Rotary engines do not appreciate engine braking, they develop a lot of wear very quickly while doing so, his habit is so he can see what the actual abuse is on the engine, not just poor technique
@Ayane13b
@Ayane13b Жыл бұрын
@@austinhah It's not a problem at all when you use fuel injection on decel which is what i assume rob would be doing as well. You're injecting the same amount of oil into the ports, as well as getting fuel dumped into the housings. If you run with fuel cut on decel, then sure, engine breaking isnt healthy in the long run.

Y’know with all the work on the 4-rotor, you kind of forget how insane the 3-rotor still is sometimes
@zippityzbrake

If you put two absolutely bespoke cars next to eachother but one is built off of a legacy and the other is built for fun, the one with the legacy will strike a stronger chord with people. The 4 rotor has the le mans history, the 'street car' pride, plus the awd manual puts all that history, emotion and genius to the ground in the most over the top way possible. Within context yes the 3 rotor can be just as insane as the 4 rotor, but it really is a seperate ballpark.

If you wanted more effect out of the front splitter, you would make it turn upwards from the front edge. This way floor, diffuser and splitter create whole effective wing profile. And also it helps with ground clearance. Clarence.

Glad to see you on track and having fun! Please work on breaking the neutral drop habit. You are going faster and faster and not in a straight line anymore. as you found out, its damn near impossible to get it back into gear and it upsets the car going into the corner. A side note as well, when the car is traveling and the gear box is in neutral, the oil is not moving around like it normally would. Bearings could be running dry and working overtime. Keep having fun and working on that driver skill!

I get random comments about the thickness of my hair by people who knew me before I used the product. If you are starting to notice thinning hair / balding - start now. It won't regrow hair but it'll make the existing hair thicker, stronger and prevent it from falling out.

I know I'm in late and my comment is likely to be lost in the others, but I hope Rob sees this. Rob; I noticed you touched on working on your development as a driver and hinted about feeling out the car / limiting factors, and I have a recommendation that may be helpful in these regards......I suggest getting some seat time in a Kart (particularly a TAG and a KZ-shifter), whether your reach our to borrow / rent them, or purchase one......I recommend this because it's a "somewhat" more cost effective way to get a LOT of track time, with more limited maintenance / adjustment, and the driving experience is applicable to the absolute highest levels of racing (ie: most cars seem "tame" by comparison)......Based on your statements of where you want the 4 & 3 rotor to be in the future and there turbo-powerplants, I believe the power-band characteristics of these high strung 2-stroke karts is quite similar, as is close ratio gearing w/respect to the shifter-kart & 4-rotor, additionally the lateral grip a kart of that level can generate is on par with relitively high downforce WTAC open class cars........The TAG-kart will teach you carry momentum / have smooth steering & braking inputs, whereas the KZ-shifter will teach you "point-shoot-driving" and chassis control discipline under enormous braking / acceleration, while clutch-less shifting 1-handed.....If my reasons aren't compelling enough, it's what F1 / INDY drivers race in the offseason to stay-sharp & you have an INDY car, soooooo............😉 Keep up the good work!!! I look forward to more track content in the future 👍
