By the way, thank you, Tammy, for not editing this one. It reminds me of some of the audio tapes I have of my relatives, including my mother and father, who would read my high school and college textbooks to me. Yes, there would be times when something really struck them funny, and we'd have to pause the tape for a short break to get a drink of water or regroup. I still have many of those tapes, and I've had the good fortune to listen to some of them, and it just made my day. I used to have a Guide Dog, and she would sometimes break into a dream-chase and start "barking" in her sleep right during a discussion. During one of those discussions, our professor just couldn't resist adding his little piece of insight to the situation. Suddenly, he broke into the following: "Oh get that wabbit! Get that wabbit! The paws would be moving, and she responded with: Whoa-whoa-whhh-whhh! Then, in a high squeaky and adorable cacaphony of "WWWWhoahh-WWhoah-Wha-Wha-Wha!"s, she would awake and look around as if to say "Wait. What did I do?" Naturally, comic relief just seems to come at just the right time, and the funniest one I remember and still have is when our Political Science professor was discussing a rather boring and somewhat unsavory topic of political bias, and Kiev, my first Dog Guide, would be sleeping, and she would slightly stir, and as if on cue, she would sigh. Now, it wasn't just a deep breath in some instances. In this particular situation, as if she was clearly bored with the subject matter, she timed it just right, and almost in a yodel, it came out "Hmmmmmmmmmm", her voice descending to a final hush, and she would mimic licking her lips and swallowing. Of course, I'm bursting inside trying not to laugh out loud, but it's no use. The spell was broken, and Kiev was such a ham, and she was such a wonderful Guide Dog and a friend as were each of my four Guides. I miss them all.

Growing up, my blessed Mom always called me and my three brother her very own Three Stooges...Plus One! 🤣 Everyday when I get up at 4am to have my Coffee with my Bulldog before I go to work, I pour a cup for you Mr. Skinner too so we can have a chat at the kitchen table! Today you brought me a Gift @ 1:40! Your Buffett of Giggles had me rolling too! My Bulldog began to wonder IF we were in fact having regular coffee or "Irish Coffee"😂 The Stooges are Tattooed on my Heart and Soul forever and I never miss a chance to watch them either when possible! @@JerrySkinner1943 It was great to hear you laughing at the Stooges...funny. I've been watching some of Joel's movies lately. I got to spend so little time with him growing up that his movies make me feel like "getting to know him" a bit. The last time I saw him was out at the ranch in Thousand Oaks and I was only 12. He did used to have my step dad take me somewhere to a prearranged place and time so that he could see me, but I didn't find out about that until much later. Must have been a tough situation for him to juggle. I found a movie of his yesterday by accident - he played Sam Houston in The First Texan. Joel and Jody had a couple of scenes together in that movie which was great to see. YT only had clips so I went on ebay and bought a used copy of that movie...so I can see the entire movie. I got such a kick out of you chuckling over the Stooges, used to love them! Once worked with two other people in a store and one's name was Larry, I'm Mo of course and the girl had super curly hair. We were standing around waiting for closing time once and realized we were Larry Mo and Curly! We laughed a lot about that one. @JerrySkinner1943 I agree. I used to watch them as a kid, but i think they used to scare me more than I thought they were funny. I was raised in an extremely abusive home, and trust me, there was nothing funny about being slapped or poked in the eye. Now that I'm older, I'm not as sensitive about it and try to take it in the context it was meant. I think we laugh because the behavior is so out of the ordinary it stresses us, and we laugh to release the stress Kinda like when someone falls...there's nothing funny about it, but 100% of us laugh when we see it. I very much enjoyed your details about the group. I think it helps being able to learn about their lives off of the stage

My great grandpa was born in 1915, he fell in love with them as a young man... He watched the on vaudeville...had the playbills of ted Healy and his stooges... From there in the early 90's he had taped what felt like hundreds of hours of stooges in vhs and he sharedthis love with me...😅 My 11th and last birthday with the man he gave me 24hra of curly and it was about curlys 100th birthday celebration... God i miss that man...😢

In the 60's my younger brother and I laughed ourselves silly watching the three stooges, my mother used to get irritated and say to us..."Stop watching those idiots!!!!" We'd then turn down the sound, and still keep laughing at the visuals. It's sad that Mo became a maintanence cleaner at Columbia after his film career. The stooges were never paid royalties or given any insurance or pensions, while they made Columbia extremely wealthy.

My dad was the hardest and toughest man I’ve ever known. He was in the Army for 30 years and saw a lot of action in Korea and Vietnam, especially Vietnam. But his eyes would brighten and he would laugh like a kid when the Stooge reruns were playing.🙂

Absolutely LOVE the Three Stooges! Never cared at all for Ted Healy. Almost 100 years later, they're still hilarious. And you could see the three men lying in bed together, and not think anything weird about it. And a lot of credit needs to be given to the 4th stooge - the Foley guy who did all of the important sound effects (you can hear those same effects in other Columbia movies, too). I saw the Three Stooges (with Curly Joe, whom I didn't care for) when I was a kid - it may have been at a circus, I really don't remember much about it.

After Larry died, Moe planned to revive the Three Stooges by having frequent guest star Emil Sitka be Larry’s replacement, but Moe’s death ended that idea.

Supposedly Albert Broccoli, Wallace Beery and Pat Dicicco were the ones who gave Ted Healy his beating, I think that money disputes were the main problem between Ted Healy and The Three Stooges. I believe Paul Shannon that had a kids show PS Adventure Time on WTAE in Pittsburgh Pa. back in the 60's was instrumental in their revival and there was a 3 Stooges cartoon that was shown also .
