I remember watching this by accident on live tv with my cousins, each one of us picked a horse to favor. Unknowingly I picked American Pharoah and witnessed greatness, it is when I started to have an interest with horses that led me to be a fan of Secretariat.

There have been so many horses that have won 2 legs but they ran into bad racing luck and cost them one of the races. Risen Star was easily the best 3 year old in training the year he ran but got a terrible ride and had bad racing luck in the Derby. He came back and won the Preakness and Belmont with ease.

I was at the satellite watching this race when after he won the triple crown some guy had the gaul to ask me comparisons if he was better than THE GREAT SECRETARIAT and i laughed at him telling him his time in the derby puts AP over 20 lengths behind SECRETARIAT and that he would be over 15 lengths behind SHAM who ran second and AP was over 10 lengths slower than SECRETARIAT in the Belmont so i guess there is no comparison but he is a good and was the best of his generation that year although he would of gotten beat by BEHOLDER in the Classic if she didnt come down with a fever

I wonder why Frosted carries his head so oddly... high. He may not like that blinker \ mask they put on him. As soon as the leaders cross the finish line, he ducks his head down like he wants to stretch out and extend. Maybe he can see open track finally.
