The 370Z Broke Again | Building My Turbo Z To 900+ HP

I cant wait to make 900 hp. I did however forgot to say ARP headstuds. Also pistons will be 9 to 1. I've pondered the thought of doing some head work but I am just not sure if it is worth it. Let me know what y'all think about my plan.

Do you know what could've prevented the spun bearing? I'm doing a similar build next month with Switchback and the 6466. Same injectors, 525 pump on stock block. Just worried about blowing it also. Going for 650whp

Well the first time I blew it was a mis communication between me and the tuner. He thought I had a 4 port when I had a 3 port Mac solenoid. The second time I blew it I just recently found out from switchback who I sold the car too. They was taking it apart and noticed the vacuum lines where installed incorrectly on the wastegate. Back story when the shop near me did the engine swap we replaced all o rings and gaskets well one had a small leak and the only way to access it was to drop the engine. Well when they reinstalled it they put the vacuum lines on wrong. So when I went to test drive it I blew it again. So from my experience both times I blew the engine it was not the cars fault. So I wouldn't be to worried about it. There are plenty of guys out there making 650. I made 636 on 14lbs and e85.

Damn man sucks to see you gone with the z build. I was heavily inspired by your vids to boost my Z but the deeper I dive the more it doesn’t seem worth it..stock VQ blocks seem to really not like anything over 400whp. Makes me sad cause they are one of the coolest sounding engines ever made! Especially boosted. Plus I don’t got enough to drop on a GTR :(. Thanks for the vids tho man! Thank you! From my experience and with some of the other boosted 370 and g37 guys some dudes have good luck and push 600 wheel no problem. Some guys like me blow it up after a few pulls. I have a buddy that lives near me went through 4 motors on 580 wheel and blew them all. Just luck I guess.

I think after my internal building my next limits will be either turbo or fuel. My current turbo is only rated to 900 hp. Fuel system i think i may need duel pump and bigger injectors. Im not sure what my duty cycle was at my current power.

hey boosted whats up? I've got a single turbo 3.7 car. Were you running 15 pounds for long? I'm about to e85 swap and turn up a bit on a stock block but I want it to survive if possible. Also the rubber wheels work awesome as long as you keep the speed/heat down. Thanks

Yo! Sorry for the crazy late response I’m sure you got it all figured out now. I was running 15lbs for quite some time till I blew it again by accident. The shop that fixed the oil leak put the wastegate lines on backwards and I blew it by not having boost when I was suppose to. But yeah 15lbs was killer. The r888rs where bad ass. I kept traction on that 800wheel pass when I first blew the engine.

Boosted VQ Cylinder head porting/valve trainand cams are absolutely worth the money. The engine will breath a lot better when trying to achieve top end power.

Yes it will be. I am running a 450 fuel pump and when I boost spiked 28 psi my tuner said that was roughly a 800 wheel pass. I dont obviously have official data to back that up. Just going by what the tuner said.

900hp overkill Why not balance the car suspension subframe reinforcement brakes 100 or 200 treadwear beefy tire setup at all 4 corners still push like 700+hp w/boost by gear n be a phenomenal drivers car

@@427BDK yeah i agree. its all in the plans of the build. Now i do have full suspension. I have solid subframe mounts to install and tires I will be swapping to something different when the z will be ready.

Ain't nothing wrong with having that much power on reserve. You can always run low boost for daily and road course. Then have a Hellcat/GTR, M3 etc mode 😁 just because you have 900-1000 hp at your disposal doesn't necessarily mean that you need to run at those levels all the time. That's the beauty of turbo car. You can always turn the boost up or down with a EBC and the right supporting mods.

If you got the money one day I would go with sohos supercharger kit. Fairly cheap and makes just as much power as a top mount. Plus the blow off valve is wild! If I had to do it over again that’s the route I would have went.

Lol yeah. I spun a bearing in my first block then my second block. The z is sold now. I couldnt keep dropping blocks in it.

@@rabbz1128 lol yeah seems like some people have better luck than others. I have a buddy that lives close by and he blew 5 engines now he was pushing more power. My first block blew more of I dont know who's fault. Boost spiked 28 psi about 800 hp. Second block though I tuned for 630 wheel and blew it like 2 weeks later.

Ohf i actually haven’t been asked this question. Honestly no. I think you could find a better platform that handles boost better and for cheaper. When I went into this build I did not think it would cost this much. I know have a 2015 mustang gt where I could throw on a supercharger for 6k and make 750whp with no other mods.

Yeah the z platform isn’t cheap to mod. When i was in it I saw a lot of people blowing with just intakes and exhaust. That has a lot to do with the tuner though. Cheap out and get a crappy tuner you get a crappy tune. Realistically even with fbo the z is slow. Sorry not sorry lol. You can’t really keep up with a stock mustang. The only time the car shines is when it’s boosted but to do it right it’s big money.

I have a 2015 mustang gt now. I’ve already done full bolt ons, bag and some exterior stuff. I’m saving for wheels and tires then a vortech supercharger. I’ve thought about making videos on it but so many people have videos on mustangs. Only a few had videos of a turbo 370z.

Well shortly after the z blew up a second time I had some big personal things pop off 🤷‍♂️ so I had to sell my Z and my brand new truck. I have a s550 mustang now. I plan on boosting it in the future.

Ehhh I had dumped so much into the Z. So for that reason no. However the 5.0 can hold like 800 wheel stock block. So that part is nice and really that’s just adding boost. No supporting mods are needed. Procharger added a p1x or a d1x to a 5.0 and made a little over 900. That’s just the procharger and I think pump and injectors. It’s crazy.
