That was beyond pulling through lol .. the shop owner practically lost miney 100% at 2k .. free labor and barely covered the cost of the paint.. reds and blues are the most expensive paints and very transparent.. my shop would have been 10k at a homie price

It did turn out nice, especially considering the price, now you have a car. We did something similar with the PT Cruiser Mom left to us and it was around 4k and turned out just as nice but most of the money was the insurance payoff after they totolled it. We put about 1k out of pocket. I think they gave you a smokin deal because he wants the exposure and he likes the channel and car.

Many years ago (mid 80's) I purchased a gull winged Bradley GT kit car that needed engine work. I rebuilt and upgraded the HP on the engine an dressed it up and was so proud of it and had so much fun with the Bradley. I was young like you then and can only imagine how you feel about your amazing accomplishment with that stunning McLaren. Good for you... This is one of the best rebuilds on KZbin right now and you’re actually doing the vast majority of the work. These cars are finicky and really need to be totally buttoned up. Do you have bad valve seals? That smoke is worrisome. Looks incredible now. They did an outstanding job on the paint. Irwindale Collison Center is so great for getn this across the finish line. Congratulations dude!

I was think the same thing you could try a little transmission fluid in with the oil a cap full or two in with the oil. Transmission fluid is a engine sludge remover and also has conditioners for seals. Might give it a try

Inja I'm so happy for you! That shop really did you a solid and an awesome job over all. Color match looks great, texture, shine etc. VERY nice work. Even if you said it was $4000 I would say "Wow that's a great price" I live in Queens NY and NOTHING is cheap in N.Y. !! Now you just have to straighten out that smoking issue which if I recall was from some valve or servo that's sticking. To me that's now the most detracting thing about the car, but we know it's not a huge issue. If anyone deserves to finally get a break it's YOU brother! Really thinking more and more about the Engine of this car is toast. Seeing that much white smoke isn't normal at all for any vehicle even a Mclaren. I suspect a cracked block or warped cylinder head. Could be a small fracture in the engine block that when cold gets a mixture of oil and coolant then when the engine comes up to temp the metals expand closing the gap of the fracture. Would definitely get that engine pulled for a rehaul.

@@TheInja could be also from adding less oil and tilting the car forward is making it so the oil/coolant isn’t near the fracture hinting less or no smoke. Like I’ve said I would highly suggest having that engine pulled and inspected, even if it’s a too much oil added as previously least you’ll have peace of mind knowing what it was and not running on a engine that could be getting more damaged from running it as is. Looking at the oil when you first got it had me cringing 😬 was huge neglect from the previous owner. Pray that it’s nothing serious and you have a beautiful looking and running Mclaren. ✌🏼 Much respect from New Orleans bro

An awesome result. Clearly, Irwindale Collision knew the value of a KZbin video that's going to highlight and show off every inch of the car in high resolution detail. If you did a walk around and still showed little paint imperfections people might think they're not all that great, but you showed the elements they went above and beyond on (for them it probably wasn't above it was probably what the car _needed_ to have fixed.) It shows they cared to give a supercar the treatment it deserves. I'm guessing the still slightly askew hood is a separate matter, but it's still gorgeous paint.

$2k is stupidly cheap for painting half a car…adding all the bodywork makes it an insane deal. The paint materials alone for my small 2 seat car is around $2k. He definitely hooked you up way more than you know. Glad to see the car finally coming together.

Just a little heads up, I was a sign fitter for 14 years, if you wrap anything that has been repainted there's a huge chance that up on removal of that wrap it's going to take your lacquer off (clear coat) probably some paint too (and yes even if it's been baked in an oven/booth before anyone gets on my comment) and even though you think you dont intend to remove it, you may need to peel it back a little while applying it or it may crease over time and need to be refreshed in the future. just something for you to bare in mind. but aside from that, the car looks great!

Low oil pressure can be a broken shaft on the oil pump which causes terminal engine failure if driven in this condition.

Had a balance, alignment, and inspection from multiple mechanics and Lexus and they can’t find anything. It is so annoying to have a issue you know exist but can’t figure it out.

Paint on TV looks good. Your hood and bumper clearances need adjustments. Yup..still smoking, turbo oil leak or valve seals. Wet compression test. Waiting for what you find out.

Iff I can suggest a couple of things 1st and foremost look deeply into the smokey issue could be as simple as a blocked pipe or something else bigger but once you know what is happening then you know... I would look at getting a good valet when finished and get a decent enough ceramic coating because all red paint is subject to colour fade caused by the sun 🌞 ☀️ Other than that good 👍 job dude it's looking great it's getting there now 👍
