Rome 2. Lots of good dlc, some great mods to keep it fresh

I almost play all of the Total War game, starting from the first Shogun. Except for Britania and Troy. I would say the Shogun 2 still one of the best even after so many years. The iconic cut scene of your agent doing stuff. The naval battle also good, better than Rome 2 imo.

I played Shogun 2 the most. Liked Empire the best, despite of it's faults, but recognize that Three Kingdoms is probably the best of the bunch.

I usually cycle between warhammer and three kingdoms. Warhammer just has so much more variety compared to any other total war games from units to faction mechanics to game play style. The Warhammer universe offers a lot lore that's well suited for total war and that's interesting for players to learn if they want to go into it a little further. Now three kingdoms total war has a great concept and a lot was adopted into the warhammer 3 game like some of the diplomatic options in settlement trading for example. It also has a great buffing system where all aspects of the game can be buffed through items, personal abilities, technologies and other mechanic. A player that's very much into detail can usually spend good deal of gaming time at maximizing the effect of let's say income of their spice trade or lower the cost of the troop upkeep to an extreme degree that create the competitive edge to overpower their opponent. This feature made the gaming experience vastly different between different players and that's very unique in the total war franchise.

Warhammer 3 really fun to play. The only problem is you need to spend quite a lot to buy all the DLC to unlock all the races. Also they came out with the new Chaos Dwarf DLC, which mean more money need to spend. 😂

@@KenZzZ86 you could start barebacked and keep your eyes peeled for discounts. Also, you don't really need all the DLCs. Look at people's play throughs see if you like the faction first. Tbh there's just a handful of good DLCs. And they're tons of mods that does the game way more justice. And last there are other means to lower the price tag for steam in general. Good luck

@@j.h.3851 I dont own all DLC, and I bought some during sales like summer sale or winter sale, they tend to have a better discount I think. But without all the DLC you missing quite a lot of faction that you cant use unless you have the DLC. So yeah kinda sucks. Miss the old way of doing things, bought the game full and just wait for a big expansions. Like Shogun 2 for example.😅

I still play rome 2 vanilla. Going to try attila next. I enjoy ETW, but it still seems buggy and saves would always get corrupted.

I really want to love 3k, but its awful battle animations, some lack of uniqie units and old mechanics (like illnesses from attila) make me really sad. Almost everything on the global map is beatiful (especially diplomacy and epsionage), but battle Animations is what I can't forgive((
