I don't go to restaurants that have buffets anymore. I tried to limit myself, but I get in that mindset that I'm going to eat my money's worth and end up over eating. What I sometimes do is order the large steak and two sides and cut the steak in half and get a takeout box and put the half steak and some of the sides for lunch or dinner for the next day.

If you look at antique china the plate size normal diameter is 8 inches. Modern china normal plate size is generally 10 inches in diameter. That can explain part of what we consider normal. If restaurants give large portions, order a take home box early and divide into two meals early.

Healthy mid 80’s single female here. I use portion control before I eat to make certain I get the nutrition I need. I often feel satisfied halfway through a meal but know it won’t be enough to sustain me till the next meal or through the night.

Please mention with intermittent fasting that drinking coffee with creamer or fruit juice is breaking your fast. Only water, black coffee and unsweetened tea is allowed.

Clean plate doesn't mean eat more. It means avoid throwing away food. Throwing away food is wasteful. It is a slap in the face of people who don't have enough food. Just load less food on your plate or prep less. Do not advocate for throwing away food.

Unsweetened tea and water is fine. Meds are fine. I would wait with supplements after breaking the fast. Most supplements should be taken with food anyway.

Your recommendation of no sugar and dairy milk in coffee . Substitute bubbly dairy milk for soy and nut but what about the sugar? I thought my splendor artificial sugar packet was. +, What shall I substitute it for ?

Add a couple of slices of bread a day. Or a dessert a day or every other day. If you’re losing weight you’re eating fewer calories.
