Dr. Li, thank you for describing how we can avoid fatty liver disease with a few easy lifestyle changes. I did learn something new - I am already doing intermittent fasting, reduced carbs, and exercise, but I am eating too much at some meals. Thanks also for explaining the why these lifestyle changes work - that gives me more incentive to do them!

I was told twenty years ago, I had a fatty liver during an MRI or CAT scan pre- operative hysterectomy. The surgeon did not say what needed to be done about it and my yearly liver enz levels stay normal. I assume it is related to my weight since I don't drink alchohol very often. TY for this video so I can see if anything else is needed to do for it. I do worry about eating a lot of sweets, white breads, and unhealthy fats..That has to end.

From Dr. Siham El Hassanieh (Lebanon) Dear Dr. LEE I have been listening to & watching your videos for almost three months! I am the Chairperson of The Elderly Committee. I have been advising what to eat & what to avoid eating based on your videos taken from your great book 'Eat to Beat Diseas' Personally, I have been suffering from itching when I eat certain types of foods such as eggs , hot food with hot pepper...etc. I have moved to become a vegetarian, stopped all kinds of meat(red & white) kept dairy products, took more beans, mushrooms,😅lll legumes, dark leafy vegetables such as spinach, Brocol, parsely, water cress..., tomatoes, squash; nuts primarily walnuts, almonds, pistachio, pines...etc. However, I am still facing the problem of itching especially when I sweat! I have consulted my dermatologist, done blood tests which showed no problem with my liver or any other health problems. I am overweight, so I need to loose this extra weight! Iam trying now intermittent fasting but not very strictly! First, I want to thank you for your videos which I am using with the elderly, friends, relatives , & children & grand children! Second, I want you to do me a favour of personal advice on how to loose wright, keeping in mind that I broke my left thigh 7 years ago , & I was not supposed to gain even one kilo! I was advised by my Orthopedic's doctor to swim three times a week, & not to gain weight ! Due to the war in Lebanon I could not swim as recommended! I replaced this with some exercises, walking as much as I could, climbing stairs reasonably due to osteo arthritis in my left knee.... Address in Lebanon +9613433282 Via messenger or WhatsApp messages if possible! Thank you in advance!

Dear Dr. Siham El Hassanleh, From my extensive reading and personal experience, the best and easiest way to lose weight is to divide your weigh in half. That is the number of ounces or grams of water you need to drink per day to eliminate the daily toxins. Also, remove all white foods, such as bread, rice, potatoes, pasta, from your diet. And, of course, the most powerful effects come from eliminating sugar. It takes 7 days to get sugar out of your system. After that, it is much easier to do without it. Easy to replace with fresh fruit and/or nuts.

So happy to have this resource right now as I have been recently diagnosed with echogenic liver. Already experiencing pain, but other than my A1c being borderline, my annual lab tests are spot on. There is so much confusing information on the internet and KZbin from eat protein, don’t eat protein; eat buckwheat honey, eat healthy fats, avoid all saturated fat. What is the optimal carbohydrate intake? Fats or no fats? How to get enough protein?

Thank you Dr William Li. I really had a hard time with cirrhosis due to over meds; then plus the Diabetes made me keep on eating many small portions. But nothing was working. I get tired of eating; and I am on my way to healthy fasting. Until I bumped here. To know that I am in the right path is very important to me. / When my cirrhosis is paining, I simply press that part with a pillow, lying against a pillow on that part. / I am still alive. The PA did not believe me that I was really sick until the diagnosis of cirrhosis and fibrosis was accidentally seen in one of the tests. Because I never complained too much of the pain in my right side; because I was able to press away too much pain. But the pain in the shoulders was excruciating. I have TENS unit to help me. The itchiness was subdued by 91% rubbing alcohol. I cannot sleep with too much itching. The prescription allergy medicines were making me sleep at leat 4 hours. If I can not really sleep; then my heart starts to complain in all directions [I cannot remember the term]. I really hate medicines. I am doing self-therapy with extra olive oil in the evening, I add apple cider to all meat if I like to eat meat even for pizza, and I love eggs instead of meat. I have MONK fruit [XPRS Nutra brand] for sugar and it really helps a lot. I only started papaya capsules, and pineapple capsules very recently [maybe for my pancreas]. My diabetes is almost gone now except when I am eating too much outside food [italian]. THANK you again, Dr Li.

Regarding drinking cold water before a meal: does it really matter when you drink the water if the objective is to activate brown fat? I’ve heard that drinking soon before a meal or during a meal can dilute digestive juices and interfere with the digestion of food.

Some people find fasting in the afternoon easier. I eat from 7 am to 3 pm and then stop eating until the next day. The idea is to give the body a break. When I get hungry I drink water or sparkling water and take a few grains of salt. Walking is also a good distraction.
