Folks forget, the adverse impacts on industrial America, by the flight of capability (labor and supporting services) is clearly indicated in the African America minority community in these towns. A clear indication is that the last folks to leave are black folks, and the remaining people who stay continue to suffer deteriorating quality of living the longer they remain. At the time of initial losses of opportunity, most white and some black folks moved on, and few whites and some blacks remained behind. As time goes by the number of opportunities for those who remained decline. This is not only a symbol of the decline of places worst for African Americans, it is a symbol for the American situation. If we look at the situation as an indicator, we would take the appropriate actions to address the redesign and resurrection of these locations. Sadly, the Government and Oligarchs choose to cut a large swath of these areas, put in high end housing, office, dining and entertainment, and gentrify. A large portion this is bought, oddly enough,but the foreign counties where American jobs, American manufacturing, American Tax revenues, and now American consumers' money have gone. Aint that swell? When what we need from this esteemed panel is a middle class industrial revolution fueled in large part by minorities, led by African Americans. Thanks

Accune This is why although I like that we have this type of informative programming for our community I find that it doesn’t speak to the majority of us.For instance why didn’t they discuss that there are large numbers of blacks in the South that are living very well.The gentleman stated that black folks are still doing bad in the South.Thats not what many of us are seeing.These programs seem to not be in touch with our reality because they focus on what these so called statistical groups say that know nothing about the reality of the average black person.This country still lives by the belief that most of us our not educated and are mostly unemployed and that’s just not true.Im not saying that we all are making it,Im just saying that there are many more of us that are.Im just tired of the poor black folk narrative that these shows seem to focus on.

Oh my god, I'm born and raised up in Benton Harbor, Michigan...yes it's a divided town go across the bridge to St. Joseph is known for been racist however the jail is in that town that being said the money is going there instead of Benton harbor mostly blacks and poor whites live....it's sad! I'm not shocked to see it on the list. Most blacks moved there in the 50s an 60s for factory work from the south, like my parents did. But Sinbad, Rome etc...are from there but won't acknowledge that after making a little money.

My late uncle worked for Whirlpool in Benton Harbor and made a nice middle class life for themselves in 80s/90s. Both of my cousins are grown, married and no longer live there. Go figure.

The United States has a white population of at lease 65% and have at least five major public tv broadcasting stations. Black people are around15% with no major public broadcast station. These numbers do not add up. With 15% of the population there should be at least 1or two Black owned major public broadcasting stations in the United States of America.
