I’ve watched this video several times. I wanted to know the names of the neighborhoods. They are : McNeil Estates, Rancho Bonito Estates, Paradise Palms, Downtown Las Vegas, Glen Heather Estates, Scotch 80s. I like the idea of a small home on a large lot in a good neighborhood. We have been seeing homes on larger lots in the Northwest & Southwest. There are also larger lots in more remote ares like Indian Wells & Pahrumpt.

I was glad to see you actually featured neighborhoods in Las Vegas instead of all the other videos with the same name talking about Summerlin, Mountains Edge, Henderson, Centennial, etc. where none of the neighborhoods are actually in Las Vegas. The downtown vintage neighborhoods are my favorite neighborhoods…Scotch 80, Alta, McNeil Estates and the gated communities of Rancho Bel Air, Rancho Circle and Nevada Estates. They are all custom, beautiful homes on large lots of 1/4 acre to an acre plus and the mature landscape does not feel like Vegas. Add in the giant pools that are not even built anymore and the fact they are located just minutes from The Strip, Downtown, and airport…they best spots to live.

Current and former neighbors: Las Vegas mayors - the Goodmans, county commissioner Tick Segerblom , Jerry Lewis, Holly Madison, Shecky Greene, the casino Binions, Nicholas Cage, Howard Hughes, the late Zappos boss Tony Hsieh, the Killers frontman Brandon Flowers, and a couple of likely-mobsters I won't name. I take a 2-mile walk thru the neighborhood every morning...and do I ever see any of these folks? Nope. I have owned and lived in Huntridge for close to 20 years. The neighborhoods are very quiet despite the fact that you're near the strip. The nicest thing is the privacy with the big properties & big backyards. You don't have people peering down from there two story houses into your backyard. Real houses built with real materials along with the character. The only other part of Vegas I would live in would be Boulder City. People here are very friendly.

The title needs to be changed to 6 Best neighborhoods in DOWNTOWN Las Vegas. I used to travel all over Las Vegas for a living for almost a decade and some portions of these neighborhoods are still somewhat seedy to this day. If you're looking to be in a quiet, family-friendly parts of Vegas, you need to stay away further downtown just like what you do in any big city in America. I would consider Summerlin in the West and Lone Mountain just a little north of that near the 215 freeway area, near Rhodes Ranch or Arroyo in the Southwest, Green Valley/Silverado Ranch/Anthem in the Southeast/Henderson area, Centennial Hills in the Northwest, Aliante up North and one of the newest developments, Skye Canyon farther Northwest. Mountain's Edge is pretty nice as well. But if I only had to pick 2 out of the 6 mentioned, I would go for McNeil Estates and Scotch Eighties. I'm surprised Rancho Palomino area was not mentioned though.

I agree! I moved here about 5 years ago and did my homework. The reality is that most communities in Vegas and Henderson have high crime rates and lousy schools (important indicators of real estate value). After doing much research I bought a house built in the 1970's in Boulder City without any HOA fees. I got a larger house and more land for my buck in a nice quiet neighborhood. The new cookie-cutter housing developments don't give you much land and they're built right next to each other (might as well buy a townhome). When I first arrived here 5 years ago I rented a fleabag motel for 4 months near the Fremont Street Experience. Perhaps it's been cleaned up but I was frequently hit up by drug dealers, drug addicts, pimps and prostititutes. The neighborhoods on your tour are very nice! I looked at about 20 houses in the Vegas area and wasn't impressed with the neighborhoods. The crime rate in all areas of Vegas is high and there's a drug and homelessness problem. I had an interest in a Mid-Century Modern house with a pool but the neighborhood was awful (high crime, gangs and of course gang grafitti everywhere) so I didn't buy it. Vegas appears to now have "pockets" of nice neighborhoods similar to Los Angeles (where I'm from) and that is due to the gentrification process (affluent Yuppies like to move into socio-economical depressed neighborhoods). However, I don't see habitating in a nice house in a nice five block neighborhood while everything else around is in decay as gracious living (you have to eventually come out of your bubble and go grocery shopping). The areas that I thought about living 5 years ago was Summerlin, Green Valley and Centennial Hills (based on my low crime rate and good school district criteria). IMO, the rural areas will become more attractive as COVID-19 has made people second-guess the desirability of living in dense urban centers. Indeed, I think that this panic-demic will make single family houses with more land very desirable verses dense living (condos, townhomes and the newer track homes). Kudos to Zappos for cleaning up the Downtown area! It looks very nice and I now see the new businesses in the Arts District. I used to frequently walk in this area 5 years ago and what a difference! Thank you for the video and I found it most enjoyable.

Las Vegas is way way different living here than visiting for a weekend. Vegas attracts all the weirdos from everywhere.. Don't move near downtown...first of all the city jail is in the heart of downtown...they let those animals loose everyday...and they're always looking to robb or hurt or kill someone...its a zoo for demons...then you got drug addicts and drunks and degenerate gamblers all over vegas ...more so in downtown...its not worth it...I dont care if they gave me free rent there..

Owie. These prices look good to Californians, but they're too high based on average wages. Guess I'll be renting.
