@ThrottleKitty10 жыл бұрын
Let someone who knows what he is talking about fill you in. Moon Sugar is basically like Cocaine, but it is consumed orally, has a very sweet taste, and it also has powerful magical properties, allowing you to cast more spells and faster, as well as heightening the senses. On it's own, it is not very toxic, but in high doses it can be lethal. Moon Sugar is mildly addictive. Nightshade is basically like Opium, it is a powerful muscle numbing toxin. It is very lethal in anything but the tiniest of doses, and can cause paralysis, amnesia, and any number of other wonderful brain destroying problems. it is also an intensely addictive substance, causing feverish nightmares in addition to very opiate-like withdrawal symptoms for weeks after a single dose. So you take moon sugar, and mix in a tiny bit of nightshade with a few other "filler" ingredients, and you get Skooma, a drug that gives the drinker a powerful cocaine like high, and an opiate like numbing effect. The withdrawal to skooma is incredibly intense, like a heroin withdrawal, but with an intense lethargy you would get from a speed withdrawal. So yes, Skooma is like Opiate, and Speed/Meth/Cocaine all at the same time. You are both right, and wrong. Also, it is a common misconception that Khajiit like Skooma. They like Moon Sugar, but do still drink Skooma. You'll notice they always have control over their moon sugar enjoyment as well. Dark Elves and Argonians are the ones with the real skooma problem, in almost every TES game there is an argonian and/or dark elf with a serious skooma addiction problem.

Oh heck yes, I live in the North where it is deemed friendlier but poorer due to all the industrial mill towns being closed down, in the south meanwhile they are richer and have a better quality of life with aside London more historical cities and spa towns. Though countryside is about even around the nation though. Its a huge issue in the UK right now, the governments main conservative voters are predominantly down south so the government will give more money to the south even if they don't need it. But the deprived, often dirty albeit more cultural North needs it more - especially during the recent floods. If you want to be more bored about this topic, hit me up. There's a huge difference its a common joke.
@CattleDekappa8 жыл бұрын
+Joseph Batson England is referred to as just England, with England, Scotland, Wales and N. Ireland comprising the UK. Great Britain refers to the 3 excluding N.Ireland. Stelios is mostly spot on, I'm from Manchester and currently live in York. The North typically is a lot more down to earth, with people being friendlier yet ruder if you get me. The south is typically more reserved with people being more 'polite' which i personally am not a fan of. Racism... I don't find that a North/South divide, it's quite even throughout but is far less of a problem than in the US. We don't tend to find outright acts of racism as such, if any it's mostly concealed and condemned by the vast majority of people. We're all more integrated you see, being on a much smaller landmass. In terms of socio-political climates... The North is more a Labour stronghold, the more left-wing party with the South traditionally being more Conservative, the right-wing party though it's not really that even, it's more complex across countries, regions and even counties. Though that is the traditional trend. Wealth wise the South has more money, with far greater government investment down there like Stelios mentioned, greater investment in infrastructure, education, health etc. Though for all of this it is far more complex, we have over 2000 years of history here, nothing's ever simple xD Do ask though if there's anywhere here that is taking your fancy that i can maybe offer some help on

+Francis Alot of them were for stupid reason, but others did have some 1/2 decent reasons if you take into account that most of our politicians are old farts that are mentally stuck in the 50s. Barely anything gets banned here anymore, but now we're stuck with massive rates of piracy here due to alot of companies putting ridiculous prices for games and music here. Itunes makes us pay double price for absolutely no reason (not a matter of "tax," as rates aren't that high).

How about "Joy" in LISA the Painful RPG and the Joyful sequel DLC? In-game it gives a hefty combat stat buff with a withdrawal that makes addicts near useless in combat. There's also the fact that it literally makes you feel nothing at all - physically and mentally, it causes you to be completely consumed by your deepest desires, and overdosing causes terrifying fleshy hallucinations and gradually causes you to mutate horrifically.

What about lyrium from Dragon Age? I've only played the first game, but that's more than enough to see some of the awful side effects of using it, not to mention the fact that it can get you wrapped around the chantry's finger, so says Alistair. I haven't, however, played as a mage, so I'm not sure if lyrium affects the player as much as it does the NPCs, or if the effects take longer to muster than I had originally thought.
@Orangina3879 жыл бұрын
+bsullivan0409 Lyrium actually never affects the PC. The story is that mages can recover from having a "mana imbalance" caused by imbibing processed lyrium, and if they do it safely nothing should go wrong. It's people without magic (like Templars, who seem to take it like a steroid) who can become addicted and suffer adverse affects. But the game doesn't let you take lyrium potions if you're not a mage (at least from what I remember, although now that I think on it I'm not sure I ever tried), so there's no way for it to affect the player at all. All the PCs also seem strangely resistant to "red lyrium" they incredibly dangerous strain that shows up in DA2/DAI. That stuff you just have to TOUCH to become addicted.

It isn't from a video game, but there's a drug in the anime "Code Geass" called Refrain that causes you to think that you're living in the past, permanently. It makes an appearance when you see Karen's mother use it, and Lelouch was debating on whether to use it or not, I think.

No mention of the drug (forget its name) from Max Payne 2 that gives you a hallucination of tight-rope walking on a trail of blood in the dark while hearing your dead baby crying incessantly?
