Nice video on the inner workings of a badass 6r80, everything pretty much held up, maybe you can do a video on upgrades that can go into a mt82?

I wonder if Jake could get those planetary gears cryo treated since there’s no aftermarket gears? It seems like they’re holding up well being stock gears though.
@FairladyS13010 ай бұрын
Yes and there are other treatments available too.

@@YDBT4LIFE out of curiosity; besides the cost and how rare rear planetary failures are, how come nobody has made an aftermarket rear planetary for the 6r80? It would seem like a 6r80 with a billet front AND rear planetaries could handle pro mod level horsepower.

Automatic transmission = an aluminum or cast iron case with gears in it that you pour unicorn p1$$ in and magic happens. Pretty much my general knowledge on the topic. Very interesting video.

How many gears do the best racing transmissions have?
@edwardmyers17463 жыл бұрын
@@YDBT4LIFE usually 3 or 4. I can see what your getting at, but what I'm trying to get at is, whats the big factor for modifying a 6 speed unit into a 4 speed. theres got to be some sort of a reason to do that. Right? What I'm asking is whats the special reason for doing so? Just trying to learn here. I'm kinda stuck in the early 2000's of ford modular motors and trannys. I dont know the modern 6R's or Coyotes as I do the older stuff. (This channel is helping me learn greatly) or the benefits to keeping a 6R unit converted 4 speed instead of just putting it in the bin.

@@edwardmyers1746 gear ratio is more like a th400 Weight. Getting rid of unneeded parts like overdrive, forward planet. Etc.

Imagine someome building that thing to all rase little street . Like maybe removing the O.D. Use the added space for beefer internals . So 5 speed 2000 hp capable 6r80... ok 5r80 lol
