thank you for celebrating whole fruits and not demonizing them for their sugar content! I have been building my multi-grafted orchard over the last decade so that we are now consuming fresh fruit in season all year long, and I KNOW that it is benefiting our health immensely!

Hi Dr Li - Did you really mean to group xylitol - a pentose sugar shown to increase the bacteria that form butyrate in the gut - in with other less healthy substitute sugars? Xylitol has been shown in two big studies in Malawi to reduce the risk of preterm birth in pregnant women, to improve the microbiome of children and young adults so they can avoid the dangers of plastic sealants and other dental treatments, and for over 40 years I have seen how xylitol can be an incredible help to adults who are fighting plaque problems.

Another excellent video! I really appreciate the easy, simplified scientific jargon you use to explain to us, your audience, which really helps in understanding what foods, chemicals, etc. are in foods and what they do to our bodies. Thank you for educating us Dr. Li!

❤very well said on glucose spikes!! Enjoy greens, citrus, spirulina and much more to " balance " blood sugar...honey in lemon water ( raw honey in room temp water ) is a perfect example....apple juice with lemon and ginger etc!!!❤❤❤

Where did you get your information on xylitol? I couldn’t find anything that really says much negative about it. Did you say it upsets your gut biome? How? Does it affect inflammation and our immune system?

Is plant-based yogurt not good for you? I have some Forager Unsweetened Vanilla Bean cashew and coconut yogurt alternative. It’s made with locust bean gum, corn starch, and agar. Maybe I should go back to regular, unsweetened yogurt from cows.
@narelled15926 күн бұрын
I eat unsweetened plant based yoghurt and add chia seeds and fresh fruit to it and don’t have any issues with that. I think dairy has way more negative effects on your health not to mention the animal welfare issues in the industry.

Oh I would love to see a Maple Syrup benefits video. My brother makes it every year from trees on a mountain that he owns. We tapped maple trees as a kid and made our own maple syrup. It takes a LOT of the fluid you get from the trees to make even a pint of actual syrup. And if it’s a dry winter there’s not much fluid in the trees bc there’s no snow melting into the ground.

Refining food items makes them less beneficial - olives vs olive oil, coconut vs coconut oil, etc

@ Well I suppose you could drink uncooked maple tree fluid. I tried it once from the tree, it was fresh and light, mildly sweet.

An excellent basis for chewing gum would be natural frankincense. It doen't taste that great but it is excellent for your health. Maybe there could be some way to add non toxic flavouring, peppermint essential oilsor something like that ???

Thank you for the details!! I am so tired of seeing that Stevia is a healthy natural Sugar! It destroys the microbiom. Can you please let me know what I could use in place of Stevia?
@hotMama4life27 күн бұрын
Stevia is too sweet & new. My fam Dr. told me not to take Stevia 4 yrs ago - linked to infertility issues. He said more studies need to be done about long term side effects. He was our fam Dr. for 3 generations so I believe him. I'm 49 currently with no health issues 🙏
