Baby powder, old school. I forgot how much fun putting tires on was, lol . Great video!

It’s great that you did this on video because it will help someone else who may not be able to afford to have someone else mount it for them and like you mentioned they know what the correct steps are and what tools they might need! So happy you saved another Ford from the crusher!🇨🇦😀

Nice job there, that's not my favorite thing to do, is mounting tires but it's something that has to be done from time to t. I'm glad to see someone interested in keeping these on tractors running. I wish you the best!

Very good video! My only recommendation concerns the test drive. With today's litigious society I highly recommend making sure you have the orange slow moving vehicle sign on the back of the tractor any time you drive on a road, just to be sure you are in full compliance in the event of a collision.

Good idea since everyone is driving around while looking at their phone.

@xpsgarage Just this past weekend I did successfully mount an 8n rear tire by myself! With your good advice of course.

If you go on line look up ferguson jack i'm sure you could make a copy it lifts the whole back end. I used to change tractor tyres without taking the wheels off it's faster and much easier.

That is a cool way of lifting the tractor.

Could I ask what tire you used and the width of the hoop. I was thinking about getting some 10 inch.
@xpsgarage7 ай бұрын
Sorry about the slow response, I just kept forgetting to go out and look. The tires are 11.2-28 and the hoops are 10 inch.

What is the ballast I hear others talk about inside the tire?
@xpsgarage5 ай бұрын
You can fill the tires with a calcium/water mix to give them a lot of extra weight.

Just doing a rear tyre for a 135 Ferguson, wheel was rusty as ,tube stuck to the rim ,tube hole rusted out ,so cut it out and welded a new piece in ,paint etc ,$75 at the tyre shop ,same as here they wouldn't fix the wheel up to last another fifty years

There’s a new solution that is not as corrosive, not sure what it is called. My tractor doesn’t need any, it has heavy cast centers on 42” rims

mayflower tire machine?

Bought it off Ebay several years ago. There were several different tire machines with different names that all looked exactly the same.

@@xpsgarage I just bought the brand called Mayflower off from Amazon. I still have it in the box until I move into my new place. If yours is Mayflower how is it working for you?

@@narcissistinjurygiver2932 The ones from Amazon look just like mine. I bought the tire machine and balancer combo and they have been working flawlessly for years.

Why not use a threaded wire to pull the stem through, like on dirt bike tires?
