We are all so different. Three of my grandparents ate greasy fried food and smoke their whole lives and lived active lives into their late 90s. One grandparents didnt smoke but drank, but had a heart attack and died at 78. My own parents didnt drink or smoke and my mother passed at 72 from Alzheimer's and my father lived until 96. Its really hard to tell just what helps you live a long life. Some things might help, but there is no guarantee.
@silverchairsg Жыл бұрын
I actually secretly like stories of people who did everything "bad" (eating fried good, smoking etc) and still lived to a ripe old age.
@anglo-saxonconnor817 Жыл бұрын
I never believed in diet alone though diet and exercises do contribute greatly to the well being and longevity of a person but it is not a guarantee to a long life. I got two things I wish to point out here. All your grandparents and even your parents all lived to a ripe old age in their lives. Whether they suffered or have enough in their lives to go without regrets is another private matter though and I do wish they lead a good eventful life. The final thing I wish to share with people here is after a certain stage in life after we are past middle age and have experience the 3 hardships of life we start to have a choice of wish. This is told by me by older people who are on the verge of death. That choice or wish is our will. The will to see whether it's enough and okay to leave or it's not enough yet and people want to hang on longer to see some more things and loose ends done instead. Willpower play a role in people lifespan and longevity. I don't remember much about the so called 3 hardships of life though. It is described by religions and I need to refreshed on it to write it out in details. Namely the first hardship is one go into great danger or suffering without any preparation and idea they are entering it and manage to survive and come back to safety afterwards and the aftermath realisation set in later and then people realise what they have went through and how it have change the way they look at life and people. This process is painful once it is set in. The second hardship is after knowing and understanding what the first hardship is about people have to undergo it yet again only this time with a new found and gain insight meaning this process will not be easy either. Third hardship is about letting go. The hardest of all.

Genetics play a huge part in it too. My Mum had lived a pretty healthy lifestyle but has terminal cancer at the age of 63. All the women on her Mum’s side of the family passed at a similar age or younger. Living healthy helps but sometimes you’re just dealt a card and there’s not a whole lot you can do about it.
