I think this should have been the A8 all along. The A7 had a coupe swoop at the back and as long as that is not the part of this car as head design unit its not an A7 for me rather a A8 but the right way.

I'd like this if it were still a sportback/hatchback. An incredibly long, massive lift back would be a dream. A normal trunk on an A7 misses the point, even if it's not really meant to truly be an A7.

This looks like a sleeker A8. Expected low headroom in the rear seat. Can understand why Audi ditched it in western markets where people have more height...would've ruined the uber luxury image of the A8 which is a symbol of chauffeured backseat indulgence, instead o exceptional looks.

Because A7L & A6L are competitons, since one is made by SAIC, the other is made by FAW. Brands like VW, Audi, Honda, Toyota compete among their own with 2 join ventures.

Lately, we've been doing more coverage of well-known international brands, but that's mostly due to availability. Sometimes we can't get the Chinese cars we want to review, so we settle for something like this. Plus, it's nice to drive a USD 100,000 Audi every once in a while instead of a USD 15,000 electric hatchback. But don't worry, we've got some interesting Chinese cars coming up!
