Hey Tony! Thanks so much for this video man... Helped a lot of us out. I just have one question. When you split UB in all those separate channels like kick, snare, clap, hat and open hat, You still have the main UB channel above them. Are you tweaking the parameters of all samples on that main UB? Also, when i bounce these out to send out for a mix, do i bounce the main channel also or just the individual ones? Thanks. I am just confused about the main channel's role after you have split the sounds.
@itstonyholiday4 жыл бұрын
No I am using the faders underneath the main one. Not too sure about the bouncing out, I would assume it would make tracks separately if they’re on separate buses. Thanks for watching 👍

When I design a beat in ultrabeat and drag it into the song, it plays throughout the entire song and I don't really want that because I want some dynamics in my songs when it comes to drums. How can one fix that problem of turning off the mode of playing the ultra beat throughout the entire song, but only have it in sections you want?
@itstonyholiday4 жыл бұрын
Turn off the sequencer 🤙
@TheThepilzi4 жыл бұрын
Hey Tony, I love your video! However, I have the problem that whenever I put in a kick sample, Ultrabeat automatically transposes the kick sample higher to C3 I guess. Is there any way to turn off the transposition and let ultra beat play my kick just like in the sample ? Lots of love from Germany!
@itstonyholiday4 жыл бұрын
Hmmmm, I haven't used UB for awhile and it didn't used to do that. Is it still the original pitch of the kick but it just transposes the midi? Thanks for the kind words

@Rahnjahn4 жыл бұрын
Might be stupid question but are you putting the high hat sample on the 25th sample spot on purpose to give it space on the piano roll away from the other sounds? I find that when tracking each sound out separately it still doesn't allow me to have the one sample on a full piano roll to experiment with different pitches. Itll still play whatever is next to it on ultrabeat.
@itstonyholiday4 жыл бұрын
It’s the only key that allows you to have a full pitch in UB. When you put the sample there and then pitch it up an octave on the piano roll and then pitch it down an octave via Ultrabeat, it gives the original pitch you want 12 semitones down as well as much more up to do pitches. The other notes will just give you the next Ultrabeat key.
@Rahnjahn4 жыл бұрын
@@itstonyholiday Interesting, I wonder why they do that. I've been using alchemy for sounds i want to pitch like hats and snares but it ruins my workflow a little. Thanks for the help
@itstonyholiday4 жыл бұрын
Robert Powers honestly UB is pretty dated software with not a lot of upgrades since released other than typical debugging. I agree with you that it can disrupt the workflow to jump between plugins all the time, but once you get a system down, it doesn’t take too much time. Thanks for watching + the comment 🤙🙌
@Rahnjahn4 жыл бұрын
@@itstonyholiday I had maschines MK1 but none of the legacy software works in logic anymore without some extensive workaround and its still a headache when trying to individual track out. I'm using UB for now until I find a diff AU for drums I like. A lot of them are pricey so I've been tentative. If anyone has and suggestions please feel free.
@itstonyholiday4 жыл бұрын
Robert Powers havent personally tried it but I hear Battery all the time. A simpler one that’s great is Sitala that’s free. It replicates Abletons Drum Rack as a stand-alone plugin. The only downside is there’s no step sequencer

@itstonyholiday4 жыл бұрын
Hey! Glad you really found the content helpful and are putting it to good use. In regards to my gain staging tutorial there is some misinformation in there. Yes, it will help with the clipping by turning the output down however it isn’t necessary to put everything to -12 as I said there in a digital environment. Hi Tony did you have updated to the new version of Logic pro X 10.5?
