Just your local millenial girl popping in to say THANK YOU for covering the Hannah Montana game! I had 0 interest in any of the more violent games, so that one was right up my alley as a 9-year-old. Although the superior HM DS game was definitely Hannah Montana Music Jam since that one had... actual minigames! 😮 And they somehow didn't get old for me as a kid. I will, however, counter your idea with one for the cozy gamers: Stardew Valley with pop girl (and boy) NPCs. Like, imagine building a farm with Chappell Roan or Phoebe Bridgers. Or romancing your BTS bias! Seriously, I'm shocked this isn't a thing already. Or, you know, just put pop star skins on Fortnite since I'm sure someone out there would delight in seeing their least favs go down once and for all. Because let's be real, that's the one that's really gonna sell 😅

I'm thinking a simulation game with K-pop boy bands would make banks. A harem dating game would be the easy route, but the real money maker would be for fans to become a K-pop band's manager. Most of the fan already see their stan as their god or baby. Controlling their every move like a boy mom, how they come to fame, and create ships for PR would be their proudest moment.

This band also appear in the magical mystery tour film. 3:36 ~ Hippy Hippy shakes is a song that the Beatles covered occasionally, a version of this can be heard on the “Live, At the BBC” album. ( most recordings from this were from a radio program called “Pop go the Beatles, so I presume this is where this cover is originally from.) 3:36 ~ Natural E appears to be in reference to the song “Baby, Youre a rich man.” (How does it feel to be, One of the beautiful people, Tuned to a natural E) These are all the ones I could find except from the lines from “I saw her standing there”, “I am the walrus” and “Maxwell’s silver hammer” which were mentioned in the video. It's genuinely the thing that confirmed to me that they knew I was queer and were accepting of me because I'd tried to hide how obsessed with Britney I was, and then they come with a whole rhythm game based on her (which in the early 2000s most 8 year old boys would not be openly in to). I would personally love it to have a diverse cast of different female artists from various decades, like the 2020’s the 2010’s the 2000’s, the 90’s, the 80’s and the 70’s. From Britney Spears & Rihanna to Chappell & Charli to Avril & Tate to Bjork & Beyoncé 💀. The possibilities….imagine a Fergie cartwheeling move, or a Janet Jackson moveset that pays tribute to her dances. Or Taylor’s alts being many of her different eras. I think that concept would sell like HOT CAKES. I’m sorry, but the idea of me having to say “yeah, I main Nelly Furtado” while beating the shit out of other pop girls is fucking hilarious.

Glad to hear the Devo shoutout! Was kinds hoping to hear about their game here. But hey, next time, right? :3 If you do do a part 2, please also talk about the Residents games as well as Aural Quest (the Stranglers).

Wu-Tang's gore password was likely inspired by Mortal Kombat Genesis. Likely to avoid controversy with magazines and parents from the Thrill Kill situation

I was a very young child when Journey Escape for the Atari 2600 was released. I played the game many times. However, I wouldn't learn of the existence of a rock band named Journey for several years, AND the connection of the band to the game wasn't known to me until around two decades later, 😂😂😂

Yes! I was wondering if anyone else played that! That was my favorite Atari game and introduced me to Journey

18:42 Fun fact, Snoop's outfit in this game is literally that of Rugal Bernstein, the boss character from King of Fighters 94 and 95

On an unofficial note, there's a hack rom version of Super Mario Bros 2 aka. Yume Kojo: Dokki Dokki Panic for the NES based on the Beatles film The Yellow Submarine titled The Beatles Adventures in Pepperland, where Mario, Luigi, Peach and Toad are replaced with the Beatles and the levels have been changed to Beatles/Yellow Submarine inspired levels with 8bit versions of Beatles songs.

Interesting Fact about Revolution X; the reason why Midway randomly chosen to use the Aerosmith license for the game was due to them loosing a deal on getting the arcade game rights for Jurassic Park which went to Sega.

As far as pop music video games go, nothing will ever beat 'Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of War of the Worlds', the text-based adventure for the ZX Spectrum. Except 'Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of War of the Worlds', the RTS for the PC. Except 'Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of War of the Worlds', the third-person shooter for the Playstation. Definitely the best three games based on a prog rock album based on a science fiction book I know about.

Honestly i loved the moonwalker game when i was little. I got a virus while trying to download an emulator to run the game. Needlees to say i never finished it, but the movie was a constant watch, even if it was VERY weird.
