@@RemixKingzMusic just enjoyed the depth and delivery of the information. Very educating and deep. So now the Maroons should give more speech such as this to let the world know who the Maroons are, people worldwide need to be educated as to the Maroons and their culture and beliefs. Medically world doctors need to understand that Maroon people do not like to take drugs as in pharmaceuticals, they are natural living and believe in natural herbal treatment. When Maroon we say we are Maroons we get raised eyebrows. I am from Portland. Please give more speeches on this unique set of people. We need more blogs. I loved the way the speakers explained the facts. I will most certainly be looking for more if this. One Love .

This was a well expressed, clearly intelligent interview. So happy, we had the chance to hear them uninterrupted. The understanding is there for even a child that hears. For those oblivious to topics at hand, should shut up and take time to learn. To learn, one must be patient and be a good listener. What is obvious is the need by both parties, to meet in a public or private forum and clear up this wasteful classic PR mess. The media is also responsible for the mess at hand and must do what is right to make things right. Additionally, the nation obviously needs to be more educated on both entities, The Maroons and the current governmental system of our land.

This woman doing the interview was very hostile in tone and approach. I feel she needs to educate herself more on The Maroons and other African Sovereign Nations. It was as if she doesn't want them to be sovereign on a land their ancestors fought on and for. Chief Currie Continue The Legacy! I feel the Jamaican media needs to educate themselves a lot more, maybe if they worked with the Maroons and not against them they just might progress the overall country.

How are the maroons the indigenous ppl of Jamaica? Kmt pure politics. Intelligent yes but clearly very political and self seeking. I’d love to see the root cause at the end of this for I know it’s not just about land for the ‘poor disenfranchised maroons ‘.

Actually, it was a brilliant question. A master stroke of interview journalism. And, if it were really a stupid and simple question, the answer should have been straight forward with a simple, “Yes.” However, instead of a direct “yes, we are Jamaicans” he played the verbal meandering game of vocabulary gymnastics, then got himself twisted until she stated that he had avoided answering the question. The question is very relevant because it was Currie who declared the Maroons “Sovereign.” Now, if you understand the meaning of the word, it implies separate state, separate government; and, in most cases, separate nationality. Therefore, it had to be cleared up with that very brilliant question. And, for the record, there are no levels to the meaning of “sovereign,” as he is stating. That would be a first for the English language. And, we will not allow him to make up definitions as he goes along. He may actually be confusing “sovereign” with “autonomy” and “semi-autonomy.”

America has the Amish people who live separately. They have their own religious community. There are also many American Indian communities or reservations that are a part of America but these Indians have independent cultural rulers. Why are Jamaicans making a big deal about the Maroons? The government only wants to discredit them and take their lands. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME. Holiness is the worse thing that has happened to Jamaica. A complete sellout of the people and the land.

Why this woman who did the interview like she trying to trap them depends on how they answer the questions. She needs to back them. If they choose to fence off their land, they can, because the government Andre him keep sending the cops on their land. They have no respect for these people. They also have the right to defend they land and them people at all cost. So she a ask questions like she nuh done know the answer to it already. She kinda ignorant. Glad dem answer her in a very intelligent way.
