THIS warms my heart to see my fellow countyman share their side of their culture. I hope this side of the country won't be sold off to foreigners like so many parts of the island. It's amazingly informative and it would so much more educational to keep learning more about the island's people. Just brilliant

Very informative. Can Chief Curry think of producing turmeric, ginger, and most of what’s being grown for export.....turmeric is widely sought after and is pretty expensive. That would generate revenue to build the infrastructure of Maroon Town. Love your channel Rochielin, and admire you as a young lady making great strides. God bless you🙏🏽

This was such a pleasure to watch. I remember when I was a little girl my great grandma told me I am a Maroon and I should be proud and never forget. No one in my family talks about it nor have any knowledge. But I am going to change that. I have decided to learn my roots and pass it on to my daughter even though I love in the states and my child is American, I will make this one of my life goals. Thank you for this and I wish Chief Curry much success.

Thanks Rochielin and Chief Currie. I love learning bout my Jamaica history. Many of us have Maroon blood even if we were not born in any of the Maroon town. My mom talk about powerful ancestors from there and that there are light skin maroons. I remember the first person who moved into my community from Maroon town. They were beautiful and black as midnight. We were so excited to have them and could not wait to make friends with them. We really wanted to know if they could really cook without fire. I love the Maroon history and proud of what the ones in Jamaica accomplished.

Great comment. There are Maroons in the hills of Clarendon, hills of St Ann, hills of Manchester, hills of Trelawny & hills of St James.(Cockpit country is 6 parishes) Cudjoe first lived on Beckford Plantation in Bull Head mountain area Clarendon. He started the revolt, plantation burned to the ground, Some of the enslved Africans fled down with him into Manchester and St Elizabeth. Some went into the foothills of the Bull Head mountain where I'm from. Accompong was Cudjoes brother. Village named after him. There's a statue of Cudjoe in Chapelton Town square, Clarendon..
