The Acolyte is Star Wars biggest enemy but as season 1 has ended on Disney+ Leslye headland is clearly aiming for a 2nd season. The critics themselves are hyping up the series now it's over and Manny Jacinto is fully embracing the fan service promising more in season 2. But with low viewership The Acolyte doesn't have many options, except to double down on the only successful part of season 1, The Stranger getting his kit off. The GQ magazine interview is wild, backed up by pure thirst across the internet. And it really shows the tactic of modern day Disney. It might not even be an appeal pitch at the audience. But a thirst obsession aimed squarely at the Disney executives themselves. But what did you think of what you saw? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

LOL.. Hey, I'm all for Disney doing a 2nd season. It'll be more money burned for Disney and more comedy for us to mock relentlessly. It's not REAL Star Wars, so let Disney keep making STUPID business decisions. And giving hundreds of millions to the sicko that helped Weinstein prey on women is a SURE way to burn the money.

Don't forget Lesbian Headlamp and her nepo wife's cut. Pre-production was apprently like 38m. And those extra costs for "advertisement" are usually not included in production cost AFAIK. So the show was probaly "a bit" more expensive than 180m.
@ChaptermasterPedroKantor-kv5yw4 ай бұрын
Rumor has it they spent 300+ mln on it. It's been in production since before the couf and reshot so much there are probably 3 or 4 full cuts of it. That's why Disney is so desperate to salvage this show and firing up all its shills to declare it a success. Not so much to get more viewers, Disney never publishes its actual ratings. But to deceive the shareholders that this show is a big success. And as the Nelson Peltz fight showed, Disney shareholders are dumb as bricks. Wall Street investors are still clueless as to how Hollywood works. You can dazzle them with PR.
@PerkulatorBenny4 ай бұрын
@@kaltaron1284 Yep. Advertisment isn't included in the usual numbers when they talk about "how much a project cost", and it generally adds between 50% to 150% of that budget, so on average you can just assume that, in total spending, a movie/show actually cost roughly twice as much as what they say it did. So Disney probably threw away about 350M on this. As for those original 180M in the budget, my guess would be: 150M pocketed by various people through bloated salaries, bonuses, and just straight up money laundering with "creative accounting"... Leaving 30M to make the actual show.

@@chrispember172Why the flip flopping for Mae? Her story is all over the place. They took Anakins story and remade it so he wasn’t ever the Chosen One as George intended. Instead he’s just a product of a group of witches who had no force sensitivities until they reached a certain planet. Once on the planet they were very strong. OSHA and Mae were products of this planets dark side of the force….so once they leave the planet, they shouldn’t be able to perform force abilities but yet they can continue to use the force? Doesn’t make sense. Why would Osha, someone who’s good, take an immediate heel turn and instantly kill someone she had a connection with? Sol is a Jedi master. When trying to save the two girls, why wouldn’t he use the force to lift them? Why try to save the thousand pound walkway they were standing on when it broke instead of just using the force to lift two fifty pound girls? What was the point of “the power of one, the power of two” when Osha and Mae always acted independently of each other? They never once used their power together. Why did they wipe Mae’s mind at the end? Made no sense. Qimir knows they are supposedly “one being” so bringing both would make them even stronger. Instead the reason is “if I can sense you mae, so can the Jedi” but minutes before that, the green Jedi lady could sense qimir without a problem? And also why couldn’t anyone sense Osha? She’s the same power as Mae. Mae legitimately tried to kill her sister and started the massive fire that destroyed their home. Why was OSHA so forgiving that she would immediately kill Sol but not Mae? She thought Mae killed her mother, but never tried to do anything to her. There’s plenty more questions to ask but you get my point. And if you still like the show, then good for you. Glad you like it and found some entertainment.

This is just one of the reasons you usually find the "evil twin trope" in b-movies and hallmark fodder. If Osha saw herself 3 days in the future, she would recognize herself no matter what she was wearing. Was this a plot point? She didn't recognize her own damn face?

smutty doctor's romance books have basically always existed among women though lol women tend to be more interested in inter-relational dynamics and people, so all this stuff about seduction, playing deceptive mind games, the female power fantasy where they can control someone, or have so much dirt on others and manipulate people so well, they have the best cards in hand to climb up taht social ladder, it is perect material for female entertainment the more class hierarchy a drama has, the more women seem to like it, the old 2 people that are not supposed to be together hardship and all that shite, it's rooted in that social status type of stuff women care so much about :D and if you wanna go for the extreme: some women will even write convicted and still incarcerated hard criminals they never met before with love letters, i've yet to hear a guy do that kind of shit not only will some write batshit crazy stuff, the target audience they write it for is even more insane

the badness of The Acolyte was a lightning strike for content creators, similar to Velma. Velma got a second season, but by then the interest, even the interest on hating it, had passed. The buzz was gone, even the negative buzz. I bet a bunch of people didn't even realize Velma got a second season, which already aired. The smartest move for Disney would be to not renew The Acolyte, not throw more money away on it. Disney doesn't have any other option at the moment. They put the me-too, lesbian, misandrists in charge who then filled the entire organization with DEI hires. All they forgot to do was check if anyone had any relevant talent. So there is no-one there to write better stories or produce well-crafted, entertaining content. They have to put _something_ out to keep the Disney-Plus churn going, so The Acolyte 2 is inevitable.

The article saying the character changes sides due to love is next level retardation. Absolutely, there's a way to write a romance in which a character from the jedi question their order's teaching in order to just have a happy life, but it isn't the acolyte, or anything that disney is capable of writing. And in this same style there's probably thousands of better stories already written. Disney is not offering anything other people haven't done and better.

"Gayest Star Wars Ever" = 🔸️lesbian coven of 50 women who don't need men to reproduce. And also the trans dude that stuck out like a sore penis that was part of the lesbian coven. 🔸️Picking multiple lgbt actors seemingly for that reason alone above other candidates without even requiring auditions for ability, chemistry or subject matter knowledge. Osha/Mae cannot act in this. I havent seen her other projects so I can't comment on those. But she cannot act in this to save her life. Her expression changes like 1 time in the whole show. Screaming a couple times is not "acting". She and "Mae" seriously have psycopath vibes through the entirety if the show because of the total lack or conveyance of ANY emotion to what's going on around them. And yet this ENTIRE show was literally designed around her wooden acting ass start to finish in Leslye's head....I can only assume dreamed up late at night after Jedi Master Green Bean drinks herself to sleep crying. 🔸️Also, "gay baiting" with shirtless Nord and Manny in ways that were very out of place in the story or particular scene. 🔸️Weird flirting between Osha & Jecki with the whole "flexible" line. It was a weird thing to say in context and way to say it so I can't read it as anything other than flirting. 🔸️They/themming Basil. WTF.

It's unfortunate when they try comparing the Disney situation to the Prequels. I'm aware plenty of people still don't like the Prequels and never changed their opinion, but the concerning thing is when defenders of Disney say people had to wait decades for the Prequels to be appreciated, and thus it'll be the same for Disney's garbage. Well, they're missing something obvious. People seem to overlook the growth and access of technology within that time frame. Back in the 90's and early 2000's, you have to remember that internet, cell phones, social media, etc. were either not a common household thing yet or just not invented yet. So the kids that grew up with the Prequels who enjoyed them, had to wait until they were adults to finally get some recognition online to speak their minds. The only people with any reach back then who shat on the Prequels were critics, "news" media, and OT Purist Boomers. But the kids of today growing up with Disney Star Wars literally have the quickest and easiest access to internet, cell phones, and social media, more than anyone else ever had... and we still aren't hearing any support for Disney's garbage other than online shills who get invited to premieres. So because there is no support now, we don't have to wait decades. We know there still won't be support later.

"Model minority" is a term to describe East Asians because as an ethnic group they have more wealth per capita than the white majority, as opposed to other ethnic minority groups that have less. Basically the idea is that they are the "model minority" that shows the other minorities are not being restricted by some form of oppression, but are being held back by their own culture and choices. Progressives use the term sarcastically. I think in this case he's just using it as a euphemism for Asians because he is putting effort into studying, which is a stereotype.
