George RR Martin said it the best “Everywhere you look, there are more screenwriters and producers eager to take great stories and “make them their own.” It does not seem to matter whether the source material was written by Stan Lee, Charles Dickens, Ian Fleming, Roald Dahl, Ursula K. Le Guin, J.R.R. Tolkien, Mark Twain, Raymond Chandler, Jane Austen, or… well, anyone. No matter how major a writer it is, no matter how great the book, there always seems to be someone on hand who thinks he can do better, eager to take the story and “improve” on it. “The book is the book, the film is the film,” they will tell you, as if they were saying something profound. Then they make the story their own. They never make it better, though. Nine hundred ninety-nine times out of a thousand, they make it worse.”

There are reasons. They will show what really happened in a future episode. After the release of “The Rise of Skywalker”, I lost all hope. I tried as hard as I could, but they are just so terrible compared to everything released up until 2012, I could find no redeeming qualities to remain actively engaged in my devotion to knowing every single aspect of the entire 25k+ thousand year storyline. I lost all interest in learning about the events leading up to the Sequel Trilogy, or any continuation of the storyline set after their conclusion. I sold off my entire Star Wars print media collection in despair. Two completely filled to the brim 6-Shelf bookcases, and multiple boxes full of comic books with absolutely nothing, but Star Wars Lore. All thrown out the window as non-Canon, along with the total, complete, and utter destruction of my childhood. The only piece I have remaining is a Dark Horse Graphic Novel release of the canonized story arc from Clone Wars called “The Son of Dathomir”. Even then, it was only because the resale shop would give me pennies¢ for it. Then it was rereleased by Marvel, and is worth just as much. I know all I have said sounds overly dramatic, but Star Wars was all I had growing up as a means of escape from the world. I have never been so invested into knowing something by researching every single detail over the course of decades as completely as I did with Star Wars in my entire life. So much of media has forced it in there rather than letting it be done naturally it's created us to roll our eyes out and pass. I do agree that the treatment of the Jedi as cold, self righteous kidnappers is an abomination. However I think that the explanation of the Force as a thread was actually something that was fairly clever from the perspective of another totally separate culture trying to understand and creating their mythology of how the Force works. If you watch and listen closely from that perspective its really not all that far from how the Jedi describe it. Pulling a thread has unintended consequences - just like the the "will" of the force from the Jedi perspective. Is a thread that created a tapestry that connects everything - vs. its an energy field that connects everything. Honestly its really not all that different. Where I get annoyed is the "only women" group, and everything that goes with that... including them being so strong they can create life with the thread/force - but are all killed like a bunch of punks by a "fire" in a stone structure. I guess where I'm going is that the premise was fine - but the writing to execute and the skill to put it on screen is really lacking.

Star Wars was my first cinema moment. 1977 in the UK. It blew my mind. I got so excited for the next one and that exceeded the previous. Then my love for it grew to obsession. This stuck with Jedi and then mourning after as there was nothing. Then the EU (Dark Empire, Shadows et al) and then the news of the prequels. My love grew and a spark reignited. This new Disney version of George Lucas' vision does not do that to me. It is nothing. In the old days us geeks had to hide our love for it or get bullied or mocked. This new gen of harpies and banshees are just that, all ugliness and horrid noise. Keep doing what you do Theory. I get you. x You speak for many.

I would like to add that Star Wars does not work without EVIL. Nothing Disney does feels EVIL enough to give a shit about. In other words, in order for good to prevail we need some serious challenges and Disney keeps throwing soft balls. The only things Disney has done which were respectable were Rogue One, Andor, and parts of the Mandolorian. Bobafet could have been amazing and they chastised any balls the character could have had. This is what happens when you cater to remember, their version of Pandering, Inclusiveness, Political ideologies, and what they believe is the "correct way." Not only has it contaminated Star Wars (I saw this years ago, and called it before it was going to take place, and look at where we are now), but other things like Tolkiens work, with Amazons The Rings of Power, Star Trek, Dr. Who, the M-She-U...oh wait..MCU. It just doesn't end there, but even video games now have become completely tainted by their nonsense with the demanding of inclusiveness and their ideals, and it's gotten so bad, that they are now directly attacking Eastern gaming companies because they do not pander or accept their "inclusiveness" into their games. Examples are games like Elden Ring, Stellar Blade, and now Wukong which is being extortioned by these same people with their agendas like Sweet Baby Inc, etc. Arguably my favorite fighting game (or game period) of all time is Street Fighter, and in Street Fighter 6, even Capcom pandered to these individuals to ask what they wanted in the game and they said "We want a strong, and powerful woman"...despite the fact that Chun-Li, Cammy, Sakura, Karen, R. Mika, Elena, Ibuki, Juri, Menat, Rose, Laura etc, etc all exist in SF...what they "meant" was that they wanted a "Man-Woman" who was "female" but with a physique that was completely masculine in the game, because the other females were too "feminine" to be considered strong and powerful. As for Disney, it is filled and flooded with it, and I even called it years before, by giving the warning that they are going to make characters insufferable, they are going to try and race swap, or in their eyes "Black people" is what makes it diverse (even as an Asian, I'm not considered diverse enough for these people) and will shove it all down our faces again, and again. They have not only destroyed Star Wars, but all of Lucas's franchise series, and moreover, even destroyed their 100th Year Anniversary Movie, Wish, which from all those who originally worked on it BEFORE it was ruined by these activists was something completely different. Everything I said back in 2016, 2017 onward has been proven 100% right with the direction that they were going to go down (Make "strong powerful" insufferable women leads, make these women masculine, while degrading feminine qualities, adding diversity for the sake of diversity and even when it's not even canon to lore, destroying and demasculating men, etc), with everything that has been released, and pushed out into our faces. Only thing I disagree with Theory on is that the negative attention has not helped The Acolyte, in fact it's the Least Watched Star Wars on Disney + for all time, I believe it's either 13% or 17% watched only by those who own Disney+. Be WARNED, the next episode if the leaks are true will now start pushing "gender terms" into the Star Wars universe, so this isn't over yet. The entire train wreck that is The Acolyte is far from over, and until Kathleen Kennedy, and her entire group of political activists and Bob Iger are all gone, this will continue to drown Disney into the abyss...and honestly, I'm loving it. Let them kill themselves from within, and I'm happy to start seeing people finally uniting together to say "We've had enough!" Thank Goodness I quit watching anything Disney Star Wars a long while back, and do not plan to return until it's actually, you know...Star Wars again. "May the REAL Force be with you all!"

I would like to see a Rebel soldier’s story, how they helped their allies fight the Empire between Episodes 4 and 5. It could start with an Imperial assault on Yavin IV, the Alliance desperately trying to survive, as this relatively fresh recruit gets a true taste of the Empire’s ruthlessness. It could be an up-close view of the Rebels’ struggle, from the perspective of someone who used to be a rather naive raw recruit who gradually realizes that they can’t hold back; they need to hold fast, even if it means dying.
