This can be seen even in Japanese history books. If your claim is true, why were Japanese generals afraid of Admiral Yi Sun-sin? The results prove it. In the end, the naval battle was lost, and the supply of the army was blocked, and Japan was defeated. It is well represented in "Chōsenseibatsu-ki" published in Japan in the late 19th century. This is an epic film, but something you have to remember is this film only focuses on ONE major point/battle in Admiral Yi's life. They should have started it with other korean movie. It is based on the history. So there are a lot of factors that you cannot understand without knowing the asian historical background. Maybe it would have been better to watch comedy or action. It is annoying to put a lot of affort to just catch up whats going on when watching movie.
