The rush back to the 80s was so fast that I damn near cried when it said "the adventures of Bayou Billy"

I love you for releasing this man. This game was one of my favorites for the music back in the day. I would fall asleep listening to this. The opening had that funky style unusual for the time period which made is feel unique in a sense. Brilliant arrangement.

Don’t thank me! I just shared the record on KZbin. Thank Ship to Shore for actually releasing it!

F yes, _real_ NES players played this one, I don't know why but when I would play this game I would have the urge to also play _Bad Dudes_ right after. Man I wish I had the resources to do this, I have so many suggestions I'd do, I'm glad that you are doing this it is awesome to hear all these old soundtracks in improved quality since 97% of the time listening to these we're through mono speakers off of CRT TV, and the other 3% is if you can find a plug-in for media player for zs/zt/spc support and dump the audio off the ROM, luckily my main audio player is still Winamp and I have grandfathered many different system audio ROM dump plugins I started collecting about 13 years ago from places like zophar.net (that used to be the number one site to go to for any type of console or handheld emulation programs for almost 10 years imo).

I remember when I was a kid and didn't yet have access to a tape recorder for my game music recording needs, I was desperate for soundtracks on vinyl. I've lived to see the day.

This was my first Ship-To-Shore purchase, and I must say they left a great first impression on me. Almost little to no inherent vinyl flaws on both sides. I'm not getting a sense of buyer's remorse that I got from Mondo, although I probably shouldn't be quick to judge. Also made a discog page out of this LP, simply out of wanting to do my part with the community (even though I do lament the format). On a side note, this is one of two video game LPs that I bought primarily for the music. I never played Bayou Billy (nor would I willingly), but listening a sample made me rush to get its soundtrack right away (the cost is more friendly than the one for Night Trap).

Nice to hear you have a good experience for once haha. Now that I think about it, Ship to Shore usually has had some pretty good pressings for their releases. The only vinyl from them I thought the sound on it was absolutely garbage was their Arcade Classics Volume 2 Darius release (the reason both that and Volume One not being on my channel is another story for another time). Also thanks for the Discogs contribution, I just added the vinyl to my collection on there today, so it's pretty neat knowing you're the reason why it's up. I added the Moonshake Pokemon release to Discogs myself, and it looks like I'm going to have to add the Nier box set to it, too I got my first NES back in 2009, and one of the first few games I bought for it was Bayou Billy. It may have cost $2.50 if my memory serves right. Let's just say that the last time I played Bayou Billy was back in 2009...not a very good game in my opinion heh. Alas, since I owned the game I felt it was justification enough to pick the vinyl up, even though I probably would have picked it up anyways for the collection

"... even though I probably would have picked it up anyways for the collection" I would expect nothing less from you. I wouldn't be surprised if you found a way to buy the European release of the Dark Souls Trilogy LP set, which its storefront blocks customers with U.S. IPs. And such a way that you would keep to yourself and not share your method to anyone. Speaking of the NieR box set, I probably shouldn't be envious about the fact that you got the vinyl set early. In fact, I call this an opportunity. If you played their LPs on your channel and audibly point out their flaws, then I can justify myself in not getting this set. Would save me time, money and headache if that's the case.

I am in possible contact with someone on Discord who might be able to help me out. I think they're actually in the industry, and had a heavy involvement with Stardew Valley's vinyl release. It's still in stock on the store so it shouldn't be too big of an issue And with Nier, I definitely hope to have the videos up for that this month. I plan to start recording the videos for them as soon as tomorrow, as well as finish up my backlog stuff. Sonic Mania will definitely be up next week. I heard Nier has good sound quality, so hopefully mine sounds good. It's a really beautiful box set, so if they sound good then that's a big bonus. For me personally, it was well worth the price to go through the proxy service to get that early copy

I have no idea how proxy services work. As I said before in my pathetically elaborate post shortly ago, I buy music for the music. Everything else is just window-dressing (expect this window-dressing cost less than buying the two LPs separately). It's all a matter of, is its format viable to justify the cost instead of paying for two soundtracks on CD for a marginally lesser price? That's why I'm keeping my ears wide on first impressions.

I don't either, and I still barely do. With my Nier experience, I had to create an account, and from there I used a search engine on their site, I was able to find the Nier vinyls being sold by a Japanese Yahoo Auctions seller. I had to deposit specific amounts of Yen into my proxy account and then after I had a "balance" of sorts on my account I was then able to request From Japan to buy the Nier vinyls from the auction I wanted. From there, I had to wait a few days for them to buy it and have it shipped to their warehouse or wherever that stuff goes. Once the item is in their hands they updated me on how much it would cost to ship it to me, and I had to deposit more Yen into my account to finish paying it off. Once all the payments cleared they shipped it to me. Even with overseas shipping it arrived pretty quickly, and was nice and secured inside the shipping box My thoughts so far on overall quality of Nier so far is pretty good. The surface noise is there, but is quickly drowned out on louder passages. The surface noise itself is not distracting and is overall pretty quiet. I didn't hear any pops until side C of Nier Automata, and that again was very quiet. I just finished up Nier Automata and now I'm off to start the other 2 vinyls for the other album While my channel is a very beneficial tool for people to determine the quality of a vinyl, I of course have to remind that everyone's experiences will be different, whether it's KZbin or if you're listening to the real thing. When you're like me and you listen exclusively with headphones, you notice every single noise and pop on a vinyl, but if you're listening through speakers it may come off completely different. Surface noises may not be as prominent with speakers, and other minor things might not translate well either. Also, when I upload these to KZbin I have to artificially enhance the audio volume so that it's not so quiet, so while these videos do a good enough job, it's not exactly a 100% genuine representation to the quality of vinyl. I respect how much of a stickler you can be on regarding the quality of these vinyls, so I hope you will be pleased with this Nier set :)

I hope to, yes. If certain circumstances happen I could buy it as early as tomorrow, but if not then probably not for a couple weeks, if not more. Hopefully soon :)
