thats because every movie that comes out now is absolute trash so the bar is super low. This movie def wasnt a "good" movie, but itd prolly be slightly above average for all the shit that comes out now. When an actual good movie does come out this day in age, its a big deal. In the 90s, a GREAT movie release pretty often...and especially in certain years, for example 1993, 94, 99. Some of the best years of movies of all time.

Me and my buddy Javier (his real name) went to see this when we were both 16 years old. It was rated R so normally that would have killed it as you needed o be 18 to see movies with that rating. Right before we go to the ticket window he pulls me off to the side and says, "you have a deeper voice than me, you buy us the tickets to get us in." I agreed and went to the booth. My voice was already low a the time but I dropped it an octave or two and told the lady, "two adults for Ford Fairlane please." She didn't skip a beat and sold me the tickets. I don't remember the movie that much and I had no right to gauge anyone's performance but I thought Dice Clay was solid as an actor. Still do.
