When I lived in Florida, there was a tradition, other than gunfire, to ring in the new year. People go out on the front porch and bang pots and pans. When I asked about it, the reply was that the noise chases away all the bad spirits so that the new year will be a good one!! 😂🎇✨🕛🎈🎉🎊

My sister and brother-in-law were stationed in El Paso, Texas back in the 1990's. She said that on New Years Eve, it sounded like a war zone there were so much guns going off and that it sounded like hail when the bullets fell back to earth.

Hey Jon, Good update. They really did a nice job cleaning up the old barn area. Pretty view looking out. Hard to believe finding a somewhat rusted bed will be a chore. 59 here yesterday and 54 today. Gloomy and will get some rain soon. My plans are a wild one…… Having calzones, meatballs, General Taos Chicken, shrimp and other nourishing foods. Then, get my arse (the English version of ass), in my recliner and watch Twilight Zone Marathon. Sneak a nap in before midnight and see the New Year in. I know, I know, this sounds like a wild time here in Upstate Ny.🎊🥱 Miss the days when you saw Dick Clark or Guy Lombardo…tad before my time. Lots of crap on tv now. Ok, I’m done complaining…lol Well, hello to Jodi! Hope 2023 will bring tons of happiness, a good harvest and a rusty truck bed. You both stay safe and Happy New Year. Bill

Meatloaf on the menu here in The Great Industrial Northeast. I think it gets a bad rap as it's just hamburger with bread crumbs, onion, garlic and topped with a sauce made from ketchup, mustard, a little vinegar, brown suger, salt, pepper and onion & garlic powder!
