Don't you have a saw for the track you've got rather than just use it as a straight edge? If you get a good track + saw you won't get the tearout as there should be a rubber strip to sit right up against the blade. Bosch make a good track and compatible circular saw (as well as their plunge saw). If you go battery, I'd suggest their slightly bigger one (Bosch Professional BITURBO GKS 18V-68 GC) which I replaced my smaller 18V-57 G with. In case they do read this and it helps, if Bosch send you one for free by the end of the month, I'll promise to buy their BITURBO mitre saw and table saw in March.

Be careful using a grinder on aluminium. Many discs are not designed for aluminium and will often shatter when cutting it, it's the same with bench grinder wheels. You are better off just using a drop saw with a regular wood blade or a hacksaw.

@@THE-AIDEN-PROJECT I haven’t started it yet we are still in the planning stage, bloody bureaucracy, planning permission and all that palava. I've got about an acre with a house, a huge barn, stables and an old cowshed. Once we finally get the green light I think its a 2-3 year project!
