I like the aesthetic. Makes it look like a real military training video. I was able to find a PASGT helmet and everything in this video. This was very easy to follow and really helped me to assemble everything. Now I have a jump ready PASGT helmet.

@@bobdole2766 I got mine on Ebay. I use to be able to find them easily on there, but I just searched for it and I can't find it anywhere so I don't know what's up with that. The crash pad was the hardest to find for me.

Interesting how the more things change, the more they stay the same. Such as securing the foilage band with 550 cord. I still taught that with my soldiers as a squad leader in 2018-2021. Its the cheapest and most effective method for doing so.

Great video! I enjoy your content a lot. I love the 80s aesthetic you're going for in your video, too :) Regards from a fellow 82nd ABN enthusiast!

If you were in the 82nd CIF would issue a kevlar helmet with the pad already installed (we referred to them as kevlars, - the term k-pot did not come about untiol the very late 80s or even early 90's). Also you did not need 550 cord to keep the "foliage band" on the helmet during airborne operations, never saw anyone do that.

Was it common to see sun, wind, and dust goggles on helmets in the 82nd?

@@offbeatmaniac400 Not in the 80's. The only time we were issued those were for deployment to the Sinai for the MFO.

Wouldn’t the ret straps go through the slits on the back of the cover snd on the back of the crash pad keeping the crash pad pushed against your head?

You might find one at your local surplus store or on Amazon

A few years ago it was still available at the px.. like all the Alice webbing.. shouldn’t be hard to find at surplus stores outside airborne bases.
