Digging the videos so far. The Mpc X was at the top of my list when it dropped but I decided to go with the key 61 to kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak. Plus I like that the key 61 came with the amount of instruments that it does.

What you can do audio wise with the USB is use it with the computer and will be the audio interface for the computer. You can also plug an interface into the MPC (in standalone) and use that instead of the audio built into the MPC. The CV gate I think is because a lot of people doing modular synth stuff now. But yeah the lack of digital really annoyed me.

yes I see people using the modular synths a lot now I figured the audio usb out but what about usb midi can u add midi ins and outs I no you can have midi in usb but what about midi outs

I use my MPC to sequence all my old school gear. I rarely sample on it since I have a MPC 60 for that. I can make radio ready tracks easily with it once you use audio tracks.

Compact flash format is all but dead. Why would they put a declining storage format on a modern machine? Much of the same could be said for CD drives. You can sent your files out to a computer and make your CD there. Where will you play the CD? Not in a modern car.

that’s like saying where do you play records there are millions of cds in the world cd is a clean source cleaner than mp3 anyway as for sd card it’s not new it was released 25 years ago and ONLY has 128 tb max where cf has a max of 128 pb cf express has only been out since 2017 maybe you should do your homework everything has been cut down sd is clearly not as solid as cf it’s not just MPC either many synths have a PCMCIA card and not a small sd card it’s too small and it’s 25 years old.

CD/DVD can be used for archiving and there are still players available for both around

digital is not needed anymore u can connect directly to pc and export your audio files then mix and master from your daw

Not in my opinion usb connection for files export has always been an option since the 2500/5000 mpc. DIGITAL I/O is needed for SAMPLING and for the digital main output. We are all familiar with how to export files but a lot of folks don’t understand the uses of certain connections digital I/o can also be used to clock devices so digital I/o is needed.

@@oracleelectronica right, i see what u mean ...but the digital signal for sampling is way to clean for me i like a lil bit of grit when sampling ,,but i feel what u saying tho ...i use to create with the old slow mv 8800 but it stopped working a few yrs ago ...its still a beast for todays standards .. i would love to have one of the newer mpc's but i have kids and they come first so all my money goes to them ...but i can always dream ...being a sigle father is hard bro every dollar counts ..i dont care if im without i cant allow my kids to be tho ...

when you use a digital input your right it’s clean I used to use it on the mpc 3000 as well but because it’s clean it’s good for effects processing like using qfx on the 4000 you can do more with a clean signal than a dirty signal plus it’s an extra option and it’s good for sampling drums and instruments.

I prefer the CF cards too, but I think SD card makes more sense given MacBooks etc come with sd card readers built in.

The Q links on the X /Xse are why to buy this, once you get into chopping it makes the zooming and all that really easy. I also got the live 2 and I never use it ( I bought it for travel ) it's annoying.

yeah the only one that made sense is the x to me that live looks bare and the one. pads look tiny so I went for the x I’m used to the q link it’s rapid for chopping and other stuff I like them but at least one fader should have been added

Adjusted for inflation, they are cheaper that any of the vintage units ever where. What one thinks or feels doesn’t matter. What they can sell it for is what matters. Use what works for you and don’t buy it. Akai doesn’t care.
