The only thing I think you missed is a small folding shovel. Always good to have a way to clean out a fire pit, make sure your fire is well out, dig an emergency latrine, or dig your vehicle out if you get stuck. Nice, compact setup. Cheers!

FYI with that Coleman stove, the stem that you put inside doesn't have to rattle around, there is a hole at the back of the stove for you to put the stem in so that it will stay in place.

I'm glad you enjoyed. The bin has worked great for us, very convenient for storing gear while not camping!
@DebReed543 жыл бұрын
Not essential, but a metal rake to remove rocks under your tent is nice to have. I also bring firewood and an axe for making kindling. And tarps for under and over the tent. I bring a large tarp that more than covers the tent and extends out over the entrance, making an awning over our rug and shoes in the doorway. I put up the tarp with nylon twine, tying it to nearby trees and/over makeshift poles. The twine also acts as a clothes line.
@jlopes683 жыл бұрын
Nice set up, we do something very similar. Paper towels between the metal pans will help with rattling also.
@bondee58653 жыл бұрын
Jeeping... And the same paper towels can be handy to have while cooking.
@LensLifeOfficial3 жыл бұрын
@@bondee5865 Yes, great point. Anytime I get off the blacktop, I worry about rattling items causing improper wear on my gear. I wonder if there is a better solution than paper towels? I'll mention this in the next update video.

Put some red taillight repair tape around those lanterns. Won’t blind you and won’t keep you up all night bc of the blue. Or just wrap a headlamp around a 1gal water bottle (milk jug style; full of water, of course).

Hint for using cookware over a fire, rub the outside with dish soap before putting on the fire grate. When you wash up your dishes, do this cookware last but it will be clean when you finish.

I’m onboard with everything except the hammocks. It’s hard to find decent places with trees and I haven’t really ever been one to sleep in a hammock and with a wife and 2 younger kids they tend to be kind of bougie and would rather sleep in our big 10person tent. I bet I could still manage to fit most of our stuff in one box. We have 2 right now. Kitchen box and bedding box. I’d like to consolidate them down and ditch some of the unnecessary crap that we take with us and never use.
@LensLifeOfficial3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I understand! Bedding can always get really bulky. 2 bins for 4 people isn’t that bad!
