As someone torn between a xtrainer and a 200rr for really tight single track (but not necessarily hard Enduro) I think a 200rr x-pro sounds perfect.

Thanks Jared. Regarding the map switch, I'm not sure it does anything at all. If it does make a change, it is so subtle that it's almost imperceptible. On the other hand, the power valve takes the bike from tame to fire breathing. When I turn the power valve, the difference in the bike's desire to spin a tire is profound. Love your work Jared.

Having one spring in firks doesn't means it gonna be soft. You just get really hard one spring. I had Kxf 250 2013 with a Showa SFF fork and you can belive me it wasn't soft.
@lskdvn6 ай бұрын
I could not agree more. Thinking it will be soft because there's one spring is silly. I absolutely love the SFF on the KX250; it is one of the best stock forks I have ridden. The ability to adjust the preload via a knob on top of the fork makes adjustments quick and easy. I am very happy to hear about this fork on the Beta.

I have 110iwh hours on my 22 re 300. I think the only time I've used the map switch is when I accidentally smashed my junk into it. If Beta is looking to slim down their offerings and sort of combine the RR and XT market, I guess this is the right move. I have been very pleased with my RR though. People seem to complain a lot about the zt forks but I love well they absorb the roots and rocks in north Georgia and east Tennessee

Love the content as usual! I think the branding makes sense here for Beta. Functionally they are switching up the way the bikes are clustered. So now you can choose between an x-trainer or an x-pro if you’re an enduro/hard enduro rider, and go to the race edition or RX if you’re ripping race laps. We will all have to wait and see how that new ZF front end works. Stay awesome!

I'm not six foot five I'm only 6 foot, but as a older and still very capable and active rider, I would have no issue with a one inch lower seat height on my older RR's given the type of technical riding that I prefer to do. I'm not slamming water bars tapped out in sixth anymore. As far as the new forks go, even if there is no performance increase over the current single function forks a bit of a weight savings is always welcome.I sense that the new bike will feel much lighter on it's feet over the current version.

Well, as a novice senior citizen who's 6'1" tall with short legs, this is interesting to me. I have a 2021 Beta 500 RRS that I love, but I have spent some time on an xtrainer as well, and having something that would feel like a mix between the two would probably suit me pretty well. And yep, I ride around the backcountry of Colorado. lol I do use my map switch some, but not a ton, but I can tell it mutes the initial hit at low rpm. On my 500 once the rpm's get up to a certain level I can't tell the difference between the maps, but at low rpm's I can.

Thanks for the discussion! I don’t think they are going after the hard enduro crowd with these because they’re making a whole range, including 4 strokes. Hard enduro people will want 250/300cc two strokes. To me it feels like they are going after the trail riders, like you said - those who want a slightly more capable Xtrainer.

I use the map switch and tc on my 430 rrs. I can tell a difference in the throttle response with the map settings. I’m a little like you in that I’m not 100% sure I notice a significant difference with the tc.. In my case, it is most likely due to my poor technique …..Even so, I still will use both when faced with wet/slick hill climbs….
@christobey41987 ай бұрын
The only difference I notice with TC on my KTM350 is it makes the bike stand up in corners. Didn't figure this out until I was complaining about it to another rider with TC and he said the same. I haven't used it since then, not sure if Beta's TC feature works any better.

Only bike I've ever wanted to use map switch in "rain mode" is my '24 race edition 300. The '24 is a little aggressive compared to my '21 and '23 re 300's. So until I get my gearing dialed and power valve set exactly where it tractors like my '23 I run it in rain mode to take some of the hit out of the throttle.

The 200cc size for the first time will have a diaphragm clutch, I have been waiting for this upgrade! The 20mm lower height is nice too for my preferences. Goldilocks seat height for average height and beginners. Demo'ing the 2024 XTrainer, the seat height was very low and rideable, while the RR RE was way too high, and the RR was barely above what I'd prefer. You asked "where's the radiator recovery tank?" In the Beta KZbin X-Pro promo video, Brad Freeman said its located above the rear exhaust manifold.

Tall riders may want a xpro with a tall seat. It cracks me up how much hair splitting goes on dirt bikes. Remember, it is 80% rider, 20% bike. Saw a guy finish midpack out of 70 entrants in a 2.5 hour B class harescramble in AZ on a klx300 dual sport with no suspension upgrades.

The RR you sell now is the best bike you have! All I heard was cheaper, weaker, and slower for the "new" model. I agree with Jared, this is the wrong direction for Beta.
@bmxcanada5 ай бұрын
It has the race edition frame, the top tube is 1" wider. The 125 is an entirely new motor, the 300 gets the race edition's piston (lighter with less vibration). Overflow tank hidden in frame. Shorter wheelbase, and smaller turning radius. Shorter by a hair, but most Enduro racers were putting on linkage mods to do the same anyways. X trainer, X pro (xc-w) but with suspension that can be used for hare scrambles. Where the KTM xc-w wallows on a track. Just wider scenarios for use than the previous model; harder Enduro and better suspension with stronger frame for some air time on hits. Great move by Beta.

1cm wider isn't it ? won't that make it a stiffer ride ?

Hi, it seems that many BETA customers are sceptical about this model, what is also strange and amazing to me is that they apparently did not use a survey with their the dealer network or a customer satisfaction report in order to determine customer needs and adapt new model specs, ...or did they?

How does the map switch work with bars with a cross bar
@masterbeta3437 ай бұрын
Yeah unsure about the xpro. Suspension seems interesting but the ignition switch is kinda ridiculous. The overflow tank, pull strap, and bar mounts are cool tho. The lower seat height seems like it would be good for shorter riders who dont want the xtrainer maybe due to engine or suspension reasons. Im finallly gonna be able to uncrate my 24 300 RE in a few weeks as well.

The XT is not a beginner bike as you have so eloquently stated. It's made for Midgets like me. It's a great woods bike. I yanked the IOS......Garbage, Had AMP do as much suspension as possible to keep it from deflecting, for my style of riding. Rocks, creeks, logs, single Trax, hill climbs. All Beta really needs to do is give the XT a better suspension and the bike will be a hit.

Softness isn't a function of the number of springs in the forks. It only depends on the total spring rate. You can have a single spring fork that is way harder than a dual spring fork.

I ride/race mostly single track/hard enduro. A few time per year i race xc. I went with the race edition because we all know sach are not good enough. What i dont understand… wp came with this 1 spring design (Xplor) and it has been the most hated forks of the industry. Many many suspension brand (dal saggio, wp 6500, kreft, race tech, krooztune, mxtech) made lot of money because of this design flaw And now Sachs does the same.

Not sure I like duel plugs like the race edition had plus deff didn't want the stiffer suspension for my style of riding. Not sure about the single spring but I like plush suspension for hard enduro it's rocky here in pa. Coil in Frame is odd. Any beta owner knows the handlebars are the worst ever and a item most peeps upgrade anyway. So not sure I'm all into this new bike.

From a 2023 390rr owner im pretty dissapointed, i think is a bad move from beta at least for me, i practice and race 80% enduro and 20% mx, the actual rr bike with some suspension changes its doing well on both, really dont want to pay the extra price for the race edition bike and this new models seems to be far from i need on a bike, probably my last year on beta
@bbarker57667 ай бұрын
I wouldn't make such a huge assumption based on words on paper/screen. How many times in the past have we heard things done to a new model that supposedly made it the best in class only to not be that way or it's said to be mediocre but turns out to be really really good??? Me and a buddy raced 2001 RM 250's mine was all stock except for exhaust & flywheel weight. His was exhaust & suspension. Every magazine said it was the slowest of the bunch etc etc.... We was getting holeshots on them and having good results. Maybe ours were flukes but they freaking ripped!! I won't judge until I get to ride one a few times.
@phantomsky85927 ай бұрын
To me it looks like just a new and improved RR lineup focusing more on Beta's whole "Rideability" theme. Making a serious enduro bike that a average joe can ride. Kinda something KTM doesnt seem to care about. I like that they all have electric start and kickstart included now. I have a 23 200rr, looks like on the X-Pro the pipe is way different.
@PNWEnduro7 ай бұрын
I think Beta is really falling behind by holding off on fuel injected two strokes. I know a lot of people still want carbs but after riding several TBI bikes now I am not one of those people. It will be interesting when Sherco announces their 2025 lineup as signs point to them releasing FI 2 strokes this year. New fork sounds like a step in the wrong direction, I hope the new frame makes the bike handle more like the XTrainer than the older RR models.
@johndepperschmidt89847 ай бұрын
Beta is getting better market share because of carbs. Weight, cost and reliability. Let’s see how the forks work, it is lighter and allowed a cost reduction.

That bike will literally be dangerous under Breaking. This is how I tore my knee on my KTM. With those stupid wp explorer forks. Once I put $500 into the front with the K tech kit I was completely happy. Finally had a dirt bike. That was safe to ride. Customers should know that they will probably need to do the same. Because a lot of the customers are beginners. You don't want beginners learning on a bike that is uncontrollable, harsh and too soft on down hills. I know what I'm saying. Here in Southern Oregon we have very steep trails. Suspension is a big deal. A lot of people don't realize it because they have decent suspension. But single Spring forks are garbage and dangerous. Might as well remove the rear shock And try to control 50 horse power in a mini bike frame. People said a lot of bad things about KTm. now it's time to say about Beta. Be prepared to spend at least 500 to have the front fourth rebuilt with A K tech kit. The Best Buy out there. It is and will always be A TPI KTM, With a kickstart.
