Yes please, the Core Single motor with LFP battery! That's the perfect EX30 because of lower price and we hope the more efficiency with 18" wheels... Top models are in direct contrast with Tesla Model 3 (that wins the match as efficiency, internal and boot room).
@bitwise1019 ай бұрын
They haven’t delivered any of them yet, but they are coming soon. I was also interested in the core model for the price but I found you can’t lock/unlock the doors remotely in any way when approaching the car. You have to reach the driver door and swipe a card on the pillar. This is unacceptable IMO, it’s like going back to the 90s when you had to insert the key in the lock.

@@bitwise101 As a prospective customer, this is all stuff I want to know. I'm also looking at the Smart #3 and the reviews for that are the same. Everyone reviews the Brabus edition, not a single word about the Pro (base edition). With the EX30 the lack of heat-pump on the entry model is baffling, what's more, some sources has said that if you pay for the larger batter on the EX30 Plus, you DO get a heat pump, but Volvo's configurator does not show this and there are no comparative specifications I have been able to find.

Thanks for the nice video. Another aspect which hurts my eyes is that the front license plate support is too big for swiss plate and is fixed with coarse visible screws. How swiss volvo dealer could release it in this way? Probably this is the reason of bad aerodynamic and high consumption 😉

Yes, sometimes one wonders...😊

If you live in Swiss you can afford to drive without the front plate. I Also think swiss should change there plates.

A very benevolent and balanced assessment. The seat pockets are only missing in the Indigo trim (recycled material not suited for this purpose? Not stretchy and stable enough?). The criticism of the missing display in front of the steering wheel is sometimes harsh. Surprisingly not here. So, someone who is still young at heart? For me, I can't see the alleged problems with the windows buttons. Like the centralization very much.
@morten_hannesbo9 ай бұрын
Yes, agree. The two real issues are efficiency and price. Best regards from the 'young at heart'😊
@jurgeggler84559 ай бұрын
@@morten_hannesbo Both aspects are probably largely due to strategic reasons: as a premium brand, Volvo cannot undercut the competition on price, and the limited good efficiency is due in particular to the less aerodynamic SUV-shape chosen for marketing reasons.
@morten_hannesbo9 ай бұрын
Sure, yes, but even Tesla Model X is more efficient
@jurgeggler84559 ай бұрын
@@morten_hannesbo Definitely. It's probably not just the Cd-value that makes a difference. The importance of the SUV-label is also shown by the fact that Tesla’s X/Y are advertised as SUVs, but the shape is anything but an SUV. As long as it says SUV, it sells, whether it looks like one (Tesla) or the efficiency is suboptimal (Volvo).

Thank you for articulating my exact concerns. I do like the EX30, but these little shortcomings, along with some issues in the menu interaction have made me hold off buying one. I think the sweet spot is RWD long range with a few options, but not split new ( been there done that won’t do it again). A year old or even six months old car with miles will be five if not more thousand pounds ( sorry in the U.K. Scotland) cheaper we could even see it loose ten k in the first year. I had a polestar 2 out on a test drive, they just let me have the car for a few hours and it was priced at £53k. I kid you not the same car offered with 3000 miles and not even a full year old £31k. I know the newer gen was coming out this was a 2023 Car but even still that’s crazy depreciation but a great price for someone. I was at the reveal of this Car the EX30 and it looks really smart and it like you say the rear was a bit tight and I’m getting to the point if it doesn’t have actual physical buttons and knobs I’m less interested. Personally waiting to see what this new Renault 5 retro drives like. The EV market changes so rapidly that’s why I still have my now ten year old car on low miles that was factory ordered, you just feel something far better is just round the corner. But yes Volvo in my mind priced this car far too high for what it is. Knock £10k off the top model and we maybe be talking and a decent level for just over £30k.
@morten_hannesbo9 ай бұрын
I saw the Renault 5 "in person" in Geneva in March. Such a cool car and excellent design, but also very tight in the rear. The price of the R5 should be very attractive. Depreciation on new cars is in general a big issue after 2022 when Covid jacked up prices, but EVs are hit a bit harder in general. Buy any new car and you lose 30% in the first year.

With cars from various parts of the world we must also keep in mind the cost to produce the car. In these neck of the woods one is within the top of social living, whereas one speaks about the USA it is already a step lower. Compare that to countries like China or other Asian brands, one will be at the bottom of the stairs; it is more easy to come up with a low price.

I have seat pockets in my new EX30, in Denmark(?) And I love the car, by the way. Premium feel, look and drive. So cool! Only big flaw is the frunk size, not being able to fit the 22kW cable, unless you invest serious time 😮 If you need adults in the back, or a huge trunk, buy another car. In the front seats it does not feel small at all. It will not take you 475 km, however (get the 19 inch wheels instead). Still, 375-400 km is more likely, depending on your driving mode. But it charges rather quickly, so that’s okay by me.

@@SciD1 None of them go as far as the WLTP. That’s a deception. The power consumption is way higher on the motorway, than in the city. So it depends on your driving. The Chevrolet will probably reach max. 425-440km in fair conditions, with normal driving. Or about 30km more than the EX30 (with 475km WLTP range). But the EX30 Ultra AC charges at twice the speed (22kW), if your charger can handle it. Charging speed is also important.
