Great introduction to the importance of butyrate SCFA and the treatment options. I like hearing the knock on effects of (sometimes slowly) optimising different aspects of the bowel environment such as the pH. Love it 😊

I've been following you for several weeks and find all of your talks interesting. I have a serious histamine and gluten issue. Was diagnosed 7 years ago with Grave disease and have been addressing my condition with diet, mental and emotional cleansing. I seem to have hit a brick wall as currently my sleep is not good and my skin is in a constant state of itching, like my skin is crawling. It;s pretty unbearable and making me quite miserable. I live in Cornwall in the UK, I'm 66years old, I live alone. Can you direct me to anyone in the UK who might be able to help with my ongoing gut health issues that I'm unable to shake off. Thank you so much. Sian

I have been on two different types of butyrate, one is plain butyrate, the other is a bacteria that makes butyrate. I also try Atrantil. I also try prokinetics called Motility Activator. I'm beginning to think SIBO is more of a liver problem rather than a digestive problem. I have fatty liver, for example. The bloat I'm having is probably from mega-hepatic rather than just hydrogen dominant or methane SIBO.
@dprice81 Жыл бұрын
I read somewhere that a Dr has his fatty liver patients fast for two days and that's usually enough to reverse fatty liver. Dont quote me on that. Do the research. I'm trying a Moritz liver flush which some argue that it's not stones but just stools that turn green from olive oil. So idk if it's stools or stones but some people report energy increase from doing it so I figured I'd try, also if you have liver flukes, myrrh was studied and shown that dosage used got rid of 88-94 percent liver flukes. Again not a licensed anything, just what I'm trying and what I may try next
@Diogenes-II Жыл бұрын
@@dprice81 I did the liver-flush twice, in three week. First time, no problem. Second time, left me with gallbladder ache that lasts to this day -- nearly 3 years later.
@dprice81 Жыл бұрын
@@Diogenes-II ouch. I'd trade ya for an achy gallbladder. Mine was removed in 2015 so I guess I'm not likely to have gallbladder pain from it but maybe there will be phantom pain
@Diogenes-II Жыл бұрын
@@dprice81 So sorry to hear. Extrahepatic stones caused gallstones. Intrahepatic stones causes liver stones. There is still liver stones even if your gallbladder was removed. There are good herbs for the liver's health: - Liver Formula by Banyan Botanicals - Kutki Supreme by Harmony Nutraceuticals - Artichoke Extract
@LadyBGoode-gr8wm9 ай бұрын
@@Diogenes-II Then do another one. The stones come forward from the liver with each flush you do. I did several in a row, spaced about one to two weeks apart about five years ago. The last flush gave birth to a stone the size of a walnut. I couldn't believe it. I never did another one after that because I felt so clear afterward. But, yes inbetween the series of flushes, I would get aches and nausea, so I knew I wasnt done yet. I am healing from severe mold exposure.

Excellent video. In my GI360 test, my SCFA were all good, in the green zone and my PH was at 6.2. I did test positive for Citrobacter and Klebsiella dysbiosis, especially Citrobacter. Do you think 6.2 pH is good in this scenario or should it be lower? Thank you for all your excellent videos and your articles.

Been watching your videos non stop for a few days, totally awesome stuff, thank you! I tried taking butyrate supplement before & it seems to cause more bloating, is it possible if I have severe sibo? Thanks in advance.
@jagodaedwards2488 ай бұрын
What happens if you have Sibo as well, would you be treating the Sibo first before adjusting diet to include fibre rich foods etc to feed the butyrate microbes? I’m learning a lot from you thank you 😊

What would be a dose range for butyrate?
@Lolaa11 Жыл бұрын
Byron, could you please share if butyrate can be taken on empty stomach or must be with food? Also, if I take natural herbal killer 30 minutes before food, is it still okay to take the butyrate supplement in 30 minutes?

How do you lower the PH of the gut?
@pavlinajirankova7382 Жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for the video. I'm now on antimicrobial protocol and taking guar gum 5g every day, too.I tolerate it well. Do you think it's a good idea to try incorporating psyllium husks for a double effect😅 If so would you advise to take them at the same time or at another point of the day? I really feel like the guar gum helped me a lot.
@ByronHerbalist Жыл бұрын
I see more of an issue in some with psyllium husk. PHGG seems to be better tolerated by most. So glad it's been helpful!

Is acacia Senegal fiber okay for me to take? Or is phgg far superior? I just already have Heathers tummy fiber but stopped when I learned I had methane sibo and chronic constopation even on a high nutrient plant based whole food diet.
