About battery care, please guys you have to implement that setting in Armoury Crate SE, and even in the quick access menu would be better, cause the option is hidden in Asus app and it's not a good experience to always have to go there when we need to turn it off or on

Can't wait to get my Ally X next week, i would have loved them to use the newest AMD Ryzen AI 700 apu, but being it very new and likely expensive i can see why they're sticking with 7840U(Z1e), i just think that since you didn't change display and APU the price could have been a bit lower, 699$ and 799 euro would have been fair since the OG Ally had a price drop and it's often on sale at even lower price. The price increase is inappropriate in my opinion, yes it is better than old Ally so worth more, but the OG Ally released over a year ago and X should be more expensive than Ally current price not than Ally day one price

My ally x arrived today and would not turn on even when plugged in, I had to unplug the battery then reconnect and it worked

I love how Asus found a way to sell the remaining amount of Z1Extreme chips and lcd screens in even higher price while the new AMD strix point chips have already been announced and are just a couple of months away. Lets just hope steam deck 2 comes before rog ally 2, so ASUS can get the same love back, as they show to their customers.

​@@XGARXS i can't know for sure and there may be many variables to determine this like if the lunar lake msi claw 8 is gonna meet expectations in September , if the rog ally x will sell well, if an xbox handheld is gonna be released soon etc. if i had to guess i would say in 9-12 months, but thats just out of my mind.

Not sure what's happening with the speakers but they definitely aren't louder than the original on mine and other youtubers seem to be reporting the same.

Would it be possible for Asus to sell a modified OG Ally backplate that can fit a bigger battery in. I think Asus can find a way to profit off of this because i would love a bigger internal battery in my OG Ally

They sell the 80Wh battery alone for 99euro plus shipping, also you would need to modify the cable and the backplate to fit on the old Ally, so i think the best option if you really want that battery is to sell the old Ally and get X, you will also have all the other benefits like slightly better performance with faster/more ram, 2 type c ports, better quieter cooling, 1TB 2280ssd and better controllers/ergonomics

@@genio5311 yeah that’s the last resort but I really love my current ally. Just need better battery but even then I only play in 45m bursts naturally. Maybe a game like Pokemon I play for 2 hours so my Current ally can handle my battery needs. Just a bigger battery is all I need. A battery bank will most likely do it for me tho unless the Ally X drops significantly in price

@@WhitsonGordon Ha! That would be amazing. One question I have.. If I set a custom profile for a game, does it launch with those settings even if I don't launch it via AC? Like if I launch from Steam Big Picture, will it retain the AC profile?

Dude this is a refresh what do you expect its not a second gen it is like a Swicth OLED or Deck OLED that do minor change and didn't change the processor because it is just a refresh. Also when it was announced they already said that it will have the same processor. I don't know why some people think it is a second gen because its not if its a second gen it will be called ally 2 not ally X.

@@potato_barbeque2082 There is the Ryzen AI 300 which launches in Asus laptops July 28st, at same TDP seems to be about 33% faster in 3dmark benchmark than Z1e, we will see soon if in games the performance boost will be the same or less. But it's a pretty new AMD chip with 55 AI cores which wouldn't be useful on Ally and it must be pretty expensive right now, but they could at least have made the display slightly bigger and always IPS Vrr, like the MSI Claw 2 is doing, or at least since they didn't change display and APU keep the price lower at 699$ like the old Ally launch price

Never consider buying deck. I will never allow myself to be limited in anything. Platform, games, resolution, power, refreshrate, and VRR. Deck will just bore me and will just collect dust. Having unlimited access to anything without limitation is better. And saying it will perform tge same is cap. All reviews test that deck is the weakest in all handheld 1. Ally X 2. Ally 3. Lgo 4. Mclaw 5. OneX 6. AYneo 7. Deck

Absolutely not, i love Valve and Deck is awesome for what it does, but Ally X is much faster even at just 15W, then when you go higher to 30W the difference is night and day, also now with the 80W battery the Ally X has even better battery life than Deck at 15W in demanding games, plus Deck, especially the Oled that has no Windows drivers, is stuck to Linux which is good for some aspects, but also a limitation for a lot of multiplayer games and other games like Gamepass ones. Valve needs to start working on a Deck 2 based on the newest AMD Ryzen AI 300 Apu with 890m graphics to get Ally X comparable performance at just 15W and hopefully improve Windows driver support rather than making it worse like they did with Oled
