Bad ending redeemed by the sequel; Haunting of Hill House. A masterpiece that, when taken on it's own, is ruined by it's final episode. But then it's saved by the context given in Haunting of Bly Manor, turning the pair into some of the best shows ever.

It is a pretty terrible idea in practice. Stories would be incoherent with the different endings as things are set up for one ending and not another. Tweaking endings could potentially work, e.g. The Mist could have an alternate ending where they all get saved by the military, but even still one ending would be better than the other. Would you really want to watch a film just to get the worse ending?

I could see a good ending with a frequent UV blood purification process curing the rage virus. Regular treatments would shorten the lifespan of the person but otherwise treat them and allow them to return to semi normalcy in a containment zone. This would have opened up the setting for a much better sequel as well. Instead of what we got. The UV treatment would eventually failed due to the virus adapting and making them MORE agressive during daylight and calm and subdued during the night.

That would be an interesting take. Usually the common trope in zombie media is moving at night is bad. Not usually because the zombies are more aggressive.. but that specifically has been pulled plenty of times, with my first taste of that being in Dead Rising. It would be really cool to see how humans adapt to mostly nocturnal living in a zombie apocalypse.

Lmao that unreleased "cure" ending is hilarious to me. "You see we just gotta get rid of all the bad blood and replace it with good blood." Oh ya that's no problem, I'm sure we can drain a human of all their blood without them dying. If you give them new blood before taking away all the bad blood the infection from the bad blood would just spread to the new blood.

We already do this to infants post birth if the mother has specific blood transmitted diseases. I personally have a friend who this was done on. If it works for infants then in theory it could for a virus only in the blood. However that's the issue. Unlike a newborn, an adult likely has the virus outside the bloodstream.

It's pretty much a cooperative first-person survival horror game, created by Matt "Maxx" Kazan. It was originally a modification of Valve's Source game engine It has interesting lore about how the zombie apocalypse first started

I like the idea of the darker, realistic ending, where there is hope for a cure but it's HIGHLY unlikely as the country is in shambles and the chance of getting a cure to the proper people is slim to none.

I think bleak endings being the alternate "what if" endings is better than them being the main canon. Not just because of, like, a sequel or something. IMisery has its time and place, but I think it should either be the alternate story or be misery all the way through. 28 Days does it best, imo, while I Am Legend falls short.

Two of my least favorite endings to amazing stories are actually in videgames and both are by the same company, Double Fine: Grim Fandango and Brutal Legend. Grim’s ending was really just alright, it felt rushed though. But Brutal’s ending was really weird and didn’t seem well thought out at all

(Spoilers for the comic series) With Jim being presumably executed for "murdering" the soldiers, it would have been a lot more appropriate to have just let him die in the hospital after being shot. Still, that's only if you consider the comics canon. Usually I prefer darker endings (ie: Plague Dogs movie vs book), but I think the theatrical ending for 28 Days Later works well enough.

only way this sickness could work by transfusion was if it were some type of bacteria or other type of toxin or contaiment that was present in blood, but then a transfusion wouldnt be needed hooking someone up to a dialasys machine would do the same thing as those clean the blood of toxins and shit by literally filtereing the entire bodies content of blood. blood isnt stationary or pool anywhere in the body as long as the heart pumps, it moves and these machines like a transfusion works by the heart pumping it through the system and only uses a small pump in assisting it to ensure theres no back pressure. what goes out, goes back in at the same rate its taken out.

Ending that killed great story... yeah... pretty much every Light Novel ever. They just don't know how to end a good story, so there's one of three possible ways to end it, all bad. Version 1 - "Our story is just beginning". A major event ended, but the rest is left ambiguous. Version 2 - "Where they are now". A short epilogue, describing what the fate of various characters is. Always way too rushed. Version 3 - "Just nuke it". A reveal or event happens that negates everything that happened in the previous story. For example, we've been following a hero making connections for twenty volumes, but now he suddenly has to ascend and become a god, breaking ties with everyone, abandoning everything he built.

The funny thing being about this video as stated by wow, is that he did not have a very big understanding of microbiology but he could tell just by the sheer stupidity and lack of common sense within viruses snd their properties. The only way i could see the rage virus being cured is by, YEARS. Maybe even a decades worth of work on it. Eventually with someone coming to the conclusion and finally creating it.

"It was all a dream!" ending could work if they went for the whole Paranormal aspect ontop of the "realistic" virus aspect. His "Dream" being a a premonition, gifted to him by some sort of god/spirit/demon. He is Patient Zero. Once he awakens he realises what he must do; help purge/perfect humanity.

The ending I would go with is A Boy and His Dog at the end of the world. It ends similar to 28 days, where the main character is stuck in an encampment with a bunch of militant men who want to reproduce. Then, because there was really no tension other than the characters dogs have been taken, the author reveals that the main character is a girl and that one of the guards is actually her sister, who was either stolen or sold by the parents. Then, they escape and head back to the island. However, the story started out with a stranger coming to the island. So, if she was taken, then they would have DEFINITELY not allowed the guy onto their soil, but the sister came back willingly, negated the chances of her being sold. All in all, it really ruined the book.

I like the bleak ending more then the one on the dvd. Personally I would of had an infected tackle one of the two survivors as the doors closed. It was a no win situation for them. They just tried to save his life, that would of made a lot of noise.....So it should of drawn any "infected" Zombies to them. It was an apocalypse there is no happy endings in any apocalypse. One of the positives of the second movie was the main cast of the first not being there. This rang the catastrophic effect of the virus to the viewer.
