I'm astonished that you don't have 10,000 times more subs. You do the best iceberg videos by far! We gotta do better as a fan base to engage more to get your channel promoted. You deserve way more subs than what you have. Thank you for all of the hard work you put into your videos! 💜💜💜

Hey brother long time subscriber here. I've somehow managed to get some subscribers and they want me to make content. Is there any advice on how to pursue doing that? Im a smart guy, but im not sure exactly what to do. Sorry to bug you but i like how you make your videos, seemingly simple but solid.

What I like is how plausible most of these are. The 1862 one is less so. Because of how the Brits lost almost 30,000 troops trying to land them in the Chesapeake near DC in 1813 when a hurricane hit the city. There was no way they were going to enter the Civil War, but they were interested in meddling, supporting both sides with weapons and trade. The South actually never stood a chance, because even counting the enslaved, the north had them outnumbered 3 or 4 to one. So even attrition has them losing, Turtledove's novel Guns of the South had a time traveler come back with fully automatic rifles and THAT was a plausible way for the south to win....sorta.

Another great alternate timeline video game was Freedom Fighters. 2003. The Soviets invaded NYC and it's your job to defeat them. It was extremely fun and had some interesting differences. The Soviets developed these armor suits that you had to hit in the face because that was their only vulnerable spot. Loaded with RPGs and soldiers to recruit. A very nice squad based game that basically was a guided tour of NYC but filled with fortifications. It was one of those games that was fairly easy to play because I ain't great at games and was able to 100% it on every difficulty. Just a fun romp.

Soon to be released book this year: New York Nobility. 1995, NYC. Princess Diana meets with JFK Jr and the two fall in love with each other. They continue a secret relationship until exposing their marriage in 1997, and have two kids. One in 1998, before surviving a 1999 plane wreck, and again in 2000, while John runs for Senate in the primary against Hillary Clinton. He wins and serves the office during 9/11, which will be the climax of the book. This will be followed with the books Camelot Continued and Renegade Royals.

@@connors-curiosities I’m writing it. The first book is about to be self published. The rest of the story is mostly done. The second book covers the rest of John’s time in the senate as Diana deals with deaths in the royal family. John stops US troops from going to Iraq but the war machine commits to the war and the UK basically takes back Iraq. The 05 terror attacks still happen but this time they take out the Queen, and Charles becomes king. John eventually runs for president for the 2008 election as the economy fails, and he wins representing a new era in American politics. The 3rd book is then about how Kennedy would transform America in his presidential term while dealing with the growing tensions between the US and UK. Charles doesn’t like that Diana is the First Lady, and challenges the US at every turn as he cedes more power in times of crisis from his parliament. We also see how the Kennedy children grow up as the most famous kids in the world and are surprisingly good at tuning it all out. The Kennedys also deal with real life people and events, like Ted Kennedy’s death, the fallout of the recession, the Haitian and Japanese earthquakes, William and Kate’s wedding, the death of bin Laden, and whether Charles will cancel the London Olympics or not. It’s a full on thriller.

@@avatarmikephantom153 where is RFK Jr in this timeline? And do JFK and RFK still get assassinated? Sounds really great!
@avatarmikephantom153
@avatarmikephantom153 28 күн бұрын
@@connors-curiosities it’s only after 1995, so everything before remains the same. RFK Jr is more tame having his favorite cousin still alive, so they interact a lot and eventually John Makes him Attorney General like their fathers had done in the 60s. Other members of the administration are VP David Bonior, Secretary of State Susan Rice, Secretary of Defense Wesley Clark, and the treasury secretary is John’s opponent in the race: mitt Romney. The administration is about unifying America in one of its darkest times. And in doing so John destroys the allure of hyperpartisianship, as well as transforming the economy in a better way as to avoid both the tea party and occupy Wall Street. The results are, spoilers: John and Diana are extremely popular, beyond any other first couple. To a point that a scandal shakes up his administration and he needs a new UN ambassador, so he appoints Diana. The party and citizenry demand that she be given the opportunity to become president herself, so they change the constitution allowing for foreign born people to run. After an international crisis is avoided, John decides to announce he’s not running for reelection, and the two abandon politics after being offered the chance for more terms and basically for the Kennedy’s to remain in office forever. Republicanism as a governmental concept is fully embraced, and John’s would-be opponent in 2012 wins (Jon huntsman Jr). Huntsman states off the bat that he too will be a one termer, and vows to live up to Kennedy’s ideals as well. The epilogue will reveal that in 2016 instead of Donald, we get president Arnold, as Schwarzenegger is John’s cousin and represents a continuation of Kennedy styled republicans, offering a cross party integration to take hold as the democrats and republicans battle over minor changes to Kennedy’s style of governance. It ends with the debate in 2024 between VP Nikki Haley, and Speaker Tulsi Gabbard. The two are watched by the now 63 year old John and Diana, aging and watching their kids grow up. The world is relatively peaceful. There’s a high speed rail network, replanting of the rainforests in Brazil, a moon base, paid maternity leave, the national debt is below 10 trillion dollars because John balanced the budget in his final year, and everyone has a form of health insurance through a public option.

I'm interested in the alternate timelines that include slavery as a topic of discussion. Since my ancestors did not have anything to do with it and the fact that I know a lot of history, I want to share an idea I kick around in my head once in a while. The 'what if' would be what if Europeans didn't turn it into an industry that forcibly immigrated millions of Africans but was ubiquitous world wide because we still do it the way ancient Africans did it. So, I'm not trying to offend anyone, but that way wasn't all that bad. And anyone who wants to add their own knowledge of history is welcome to pipe in. For a little bit of help understanding the idea, please research the history of John Newton, the author of Amazing Grace. Just so I don't need to explain too much. But slavery had been done in Africa for thousands of years and wasn't anywhere near as cruel as it became IRL. It was a way of reparations for war, a way to eliminate personal debts, and a way to punish crime. And most importantly was not a permanent thing. Usually slaves would become freed after a few years, just like happened with John Newton. An example might be tribe A invades tribe B in a war of aggression, loses, and the warriors of tribe A would be captured and forced to rebuild what was damaged and after a few years, these warriors would have a choice. Either go back home, stay with tribe B, or go somewhere else. A murderer, thief, or something would have been enslaved for a number of years as punishment then released. Stuff like that. Rape and other crimes of violence would probably have been castrated or otherwise marked ( which is something we probably should do today anyway, but that's another topic). So my alternative history would have changed the modern world in many many ways. Like how I did a debt consolidation four years ago would have required my enslavement for say seven years or so. After losing WWII Nazis would have been enslaved by France, England and surviving Jews, Ted Bundy would probably still have been put to death, but OJ Simpson might have been a slave to the Brown family after he lost the civil case. We'd still have African American people, but far fewer who would have immigrated of their own accord. In fact the entire exploration age would have been different all across the globe. Loyalists after the Revolution would have been made to fix and rebuild stuff before being deported to England. We might have still had a civil war, but for the non slavery reasons histoians mention. Economics, religion and societal things. The Gulf war would have ended by the Iraqi military being enslaved by Kuwait. US servicemen such as McCain and Stockdale captured by the VC might have spent seven years in Vietnam as slaves instead of being kept in 4X4X4 boxes. Instead of the Romanovs being executed, they'd have been put to work. The 800 years of relative peace between Christians, Muslims and Jews in Spain before being unified 14 years before Columbus' voyage might have been extended longer or extinguished sooner. Almost every historical event after the year 1 could have been different. Europe, the Americas, Asia, even Indian ( the Asia one) and the 500 nations of peoples in the western hemisphere would also have come out different. Maybe even the Americas wouldn't have been invaded so badly by Europeans at all. Greeks and Romans of ancient times had this much more amicable kind of slavery, so, I'm not insane with this idea. I'm no writer, though so if anyone takes this and publishes a book. I'd like the first copy please. That's all. I'd like to read something about how my own ancestors might not have even come here and I'm speaking German or Norwegian as that's my main heritage. Does anyone have anything interesting to add? I'd love it if a learned historian had something.
