Shohei Ono will be a Judo legend for many years to come. He is an absolute master of his art, combining sublime skills with speed and power.

Shohei Ohno is providing commentary on television for the Paris Olympics. His explanations of the judo matches are very clear and insightful, offering respectful and fair commentary for all athletes. It's evident how intelligent and admirable his personality is. His unique hairstyle has also become a topic of interest in Japan.

Ono is my all time favorite! And the opening Hane-Goshi was beautiful!! Done from such an unsuspecting position
@伊藤哲朗-t7n7 ай бұрын
Shohei Ono is not only strong but also is beautiful in the manners he shows on matches. Ono shows respectful attitude to his opponents, taking time to bow deeply at the beginning and the end of matches. When Ono wins matches, he does not make flashy victory poses like fist pumping. Ono reminds us of the manners of old Judo-ka, which is forgotten in Japan, too.

Wow, that was some fantastic Judo! I wish I had seen this video when I was competing decades ago. The way he moves into some of his throws is awesome. The first one is a great example. 0:40 The way he pops the left leg up with a Ko Uchi attack and then bumps straight over to the right leg for the Hane Goshi is great to watch.
@stefftrimАй бұрын
Amazing control and dominance of "Ku"/ "space"; you can see how he can leverage his balance/ base. Even in several "O soto gari" scenarios he appears to challenge his dominance over "Ku", but with a subtle turn of the torso, uke looses balance and the technique is executed beautifully.
