I found a trick for operate the everdrive (not pro version) on the analog duo. You must first start on a real hucard game, exit the game, insert the everdrive, go to library, select the previous game and launch it, this manipulation allows you to launch the everdrive ✌️✌️✌️

When the first time it didn't work, did you have region set as the same on the console?, because even on real pc engine/TurboGrafx if you don't have the everdrive set to to the same region it wouldn't work, and some emulators will do the same.

The Analogue Duo is one of my favorite purchases of the year. I already had a pretty good TG16/PCE collection from about a decade ago and it's been awesome being able to play them again in HD without worrying about modding (and replacing the drive and caps on) my original Duo. Love this thing, sorry it's not what you were looking for

I think folks fail to realize that Analogue made this system so you can play your original PC Engine, Turbografx games on it. It wasn't designed to play pirated software like the Everdrive or burned discs. What is so hard to understand about that?

Because If your emulating the original hardware and your claiming close to 100 percent compatibility then it should work with the same thing as original hardware including an everdrive which is fully compatible with original hardware. It's the way it's marketed that gets people upset! They also claim there is no emulation which is bullshit! Besides they even claim its supposed to be compatible with an everdrive which is also bullshit!

@@ericochoa4034 While I (mostly) like Analogue products, I dislike the company themselves for this very reason. They do a lot, and I mean a LOT of false advertising. They advertised the white Duo as being a stark white, it isn't. They claim to have near 100% compatibility with pretty much everything they release, but in my experience it's a lot closer to 90%-95%. For example, the Analogue Super NT. Doesn't play my Super Gameboy, Illusion of Gaia, and, while I can't remember which ones off the top of my head, I know there were a few others I've tried that just don't work. Mind you, I'm someone that takes incredibly good care of their cartridges, and makes sure all pins are clean, as well as tested the games on an original SNES, where they worked fine. While I don't personally see a lot of point in using an Everdrive, whether or not it makes sense to use isn't relevant. What is relevant is that it SHOULD work. And not with some of the work arounds I've seen floating around, it should work out of the box. False advertisement, overpriced shipping with inane rules (like often not being able to put more than one item in an order, further inflating shipping costs), and terrible business practices are the big reasons why I don't really have any intention of doing business with them anymore.

I updated the firmware to 1.1b as I filmed the video, I just cut that section out. It made no difference.

It may be a dumb question?, but if you don't have any original TurboGrafX-16 HuCards or Turbo CDs, and you didn't yet own a Turbo EverDrive (flashcard), then why wouldn't you have just bought an Analogue Pocket? (Along with playing original GB, GBC, GBA, Lynx, SMS, TG16, PCE, SGX, NGP, NGPC carts/cards, and having a gorgeous display, it also runs all of that from the SDCard, along with dozens of other systems (SNES, Genesis, Neo-Geo, Atari*, ColecoVision, INTV, etc), computers, and arcade FPGA cores. It would have been $30 cheaper (Turbo Duo $249 VS Pocket $219), and you could have just bought the Dock ($99) if you wanted it on an external display experience. Just a thought. Also, 5:50 It's not supposed to come with an SDcard. :)

@mambajoopa yes. After further testing I just found out it's my TV. I tried it on another older Vizio tv from 2006 and it worked. I'm still mad though because why the hell should it not work on my tv? I'm not buying a new TV just for this 😫

They updated the firmware to disable the CD-ROM, the Turbo EverDrive cannot run connected to a unit with a CD-ROM integrated into the system like the original TurboDuo v1.1b in the system settings to disable the CD-ROM, see if that works

Ive been having a nightmare with Hucards and my CD games.... I love the turbografx, and cant afford a real one, my real one broke years ago... but I actually regret buying the analogue duo... I'm not having any luck with it... I have talked to other people who are very happy though. I dont know how much time they've spent exploring games and CD discs... we'll see in about two weeks if most people end up really happy or if more people like me end up not having good luck with it

Haven't checked in about a year, but when I was in the market for a PCE, I was looking for a Duo with a region switch, so the same amount of game compatibility as advertised on the Analogue Duo, and it was, on average, around $400. At the time, the Analogue Duo looked like a great buy, since (up until the day it went up for preorder, of course) it was advertised as being $200, which was a steal by comparison. Even after the last minute price hike to $250, with Analogue's insanely overpriced shipping, still a lot cheaper. It's not like it's back when the console was in the middle of flopping, and you could buy one brand new for like $100 or something. It's 2023, where more and more people every day are getting priced out of the hobby.

I dont buy cheap listed systems off of ebay as I have had bad luck, but if I did...a TG16, a Tg CD (super + arcade) and a super grapfx would be in the thousands... please think before you post a stupid comment

@@tom11zz884 Riot zone crashes, scrambles graphics, my art of fighting game is glitched, several of my Hucards need to be taken out and refitted before turning on, but this issue with the HUcards is fixed for me... I push them in with more force to make sure they go as deep as they can and they work now... my 3 in 1 disc gets a black screen of death... stuff like that

#1 Nearly all original CDs, Hu cards and controllers have tested work fine. The DUO was mainly designed for that aspect. You get a way to play your old games on a modern setup (and soon on a CRT) for preservation. Audio CDs also work with the system card. #2 I have a hard time understanding why would someone get a DUO to just play ROMS from an everdrive. And then be mad about it not being able too. The FPGA Mister route, though slightly more expensive is way more useful since you get every single systems ever made up to 2005? Analogue does not sale nor boast that everdrives work great. #3 Issues with everdrives should be resolved in upcoming patches, if not already resolved. But keep in mind this system was not designed to specifically work with everdrives. That it does is an amazing bonus. Same for burned CD discs. So be patient.

2) For the same reason those Mini consoles a few years back were popular, despite the ability to get a cheap android box, or a raspberry Pi system and put emulators on that. The Mister isn't exactly a 'Complete consumer product'. For us tinkerers thats fine, we like that. But I'm sure for a lot of folks out there, thats a turn off, and where Analogue's systems have always shined. 3) There would be no reason for it not to work with burned CDs. There never was any copy protection on the original console, besides how cost prohibitive copying CDs was in the early 90s. The Duo has an off the shelf laptop DVD drive in the thing. More likely then anything the failed CD was just incorrectly burned, or it was just a dud disk in the spindle. Used to happen a fair bit back in the day with cheap CD-Rs, and that is pretty much all that is on the market now.

#2: Or better, just use an emu on your PC. Mister is overrated. For clone consoles FPGA makes sense, since it allows reading cartridges directly rather than dumping the rom every time you plug in the cart, like on an emulator. Makes even more sense for handhelds, as FPGA has lower power draw, since a computer otherwise needs significantly more power than the original system to emulate a game, so you get improved battery life. Mister, though, reaps none of these benefits. Something using FPGA being better or more accurate than an emu is pure myth, so there's no reason to get Mister other than to say "hey, look at how much money I have, that I can just throw many hundreds of dollars at something my pc, laptop, or even phone can do just as well." If you're just looking to play roms, use an emu. If you're looking to use physical media, use a clone system, whether FPGA or not. There's no reason whatsoever for anyone to own a Mister.
