Thanks for watching! This was one long in the works and I am glad to finally get it released, and also what would you want to see fleshed out about the ancient civilization?

This lore would be an epic setup for the next Stories game: Several Riders (including the player) are given the status of Guild Knight in order to ease tensions between their & the Guild, only to discover that a rogue branch is trying to bring back the Ancient Civilizations ways.

I kinda like the idea that as the games go on and the guild uncovers more and more ancient civilization technology and history, we've gone from crude utilization of monster materials, such as the first couple of generations where you had positive and negative skills on armors, or even just outright no visible skills such as the first game. To this world and rise generation where they've made such advancements in the crafting, tht we don't have the negative skills anymore. Some people get all butthurt about it, but i say its just a natural advancement in the technology we have either discovered ourselves, or found in blueprints and reverse engineered from the ancients.

Do you think that the people/tribe in MHWilds that the boy comes from is from the remnants of that ancient civilization and with the Flagship being an Extinct Species an extra tie-in? I think it would make for some really neat lore.

I don't think they are remnants but they could have ancestors from the ancient civ. But it would be very long gone information for them and they will have some significant lore though for the forbidden lands so we will see

You know the first monster hunter game I played was world and I'm excited for wilds. After watching this I was in horror and intrigued. I didn't know monster hunter was hella dark now I'm more excited for wilds.

Don’t know why but hearing the ancient civilisation used monsters in everyday life for defence, building and other uses I just pictured people using rolling radobaans to crush wheat into flour in giant brick or stone bowls on an industrial scale

I find the lore of the Ancient Civilization to be highly compelling, despite the debates on how cannon it truly is. Would be cool in a future game if our hunter confronted the equal dragon weapon as a final boss. Maybe the village we represent accidentally awakens one in an ancient ruin, and our hunter is the only thing standing between it and the ecosystem our village is a part of. Kinda poetic. Shows the change in perspective between the new and old. The only thing standing between humanity’s worst creation and nature is an enlightened group of humans who respect nature. Would be even cooler, if the fight draws out to a stale mate, and the ecosystem itself comes to our aid. I know the intelligence of non elder monsters is up for debate, but imagine a Rathalos bombarding the abomination from the sky, a rajang attempting to wrestle it creating an opening for the hunter. It would be a hella unique fight. I could see the dragon weapon shooting a ballista binding from its claw and pulling flying Wyverns from the sky, or even wielding a sword of its own. Thank you for this video. It was a treat for me.

I agree it would be awesome, I know there is still debate about its caninity, but a lot of monster hunter's lore can be vague or not fleshed out and left up to our perception of it. I enjoy it though, especially when I get to see other peoples ideas like yours! I really hope capcom expand on things like this in the future

I really like the ancient civilization lore and especially the great dragon war and the theories that come out of it, but just to be clear all of this needs to be taken with a grain of salt because it is not canon to the games in any way. Yes there are remnants of an ancient civilization, and it gave the guild weapons like charge blade and dragonator, but the equal dragon weapon and great dragon war were both scrapped concepts

Im starting to wonder if a version of safi would be the base for the equal dragon weapon? Simply going off both their red skin. And size.

The weapon was red because its skin/scales were ripped off. What you see is just a meat wyvern getting a metal skin. It is also a Frankenstein. As said in the video. Its made of countless organs, body parts and blood of different wyverns and elder dragons. Tough that doesnt necessarily mean Safi wasnt used to make them. Ancient civilizations metal in lore is stated to be better than many or equal to elder dragons defences. Gunlance, canons, gunpowder, flying machines, trains, Dragonator, meters thic dozens of meters tall stell walls and doors. All made by the civilization. Today we are just getting scraps from them and still some of them lorewise were so destructive they needed time to make them less so to be used by modern standards. In canon all weapons we see where since the first game, but not available until later installments because as i said they were making them available for use.
